Now that one has your attention, my real purpose can become apparent. I was just...idly thinking... the other day, and a few things struck me, so I decided to gather the opinions of those lovely folk at the forum

Don't believe that?
Oh, well, worth a try.
Doing an English paper, and just thought that a few ideas may be of some assistance.

"Compare and contrast the ways in which any TWO texts/topics exemplify their era."

Texts chosen: "On the Road" Jack Kerouac
"Blow Up" Michelangelo Antonioni (film)

One is saying that 1st is from Beat Generation, and second from Swinging Sixties, in terms of eras.

Anyone whoo knows anything they think useful on either text, or either era, make a reply if you are that way inclined.

Am mostly finished the 3500 word sucker, but just looking to see if left any perspectives out.
Cheers.

I don't really consider it "homework doing", but rather just raising a topic that could be of some interest, and provide some perspectives b4 I put the paper in, which I did this morning anyway.
So now, this is just academic interest, as such; curiosity inspiring one to gauge the opinions of others.
What you says go's I know, but there have been several occurences like this before in this particular forum on various matters, ranging from politics to algebra, and no objections were raised to them. The description for Off Topic is "Discuss anything that don't belong in other forums here". To me, this thread fits under this description, and is not offensive, illegal or unethical. The only concern I can think of is the potential for plagiarism, and this is one that can be quickly allayed; I am a principled academic, and plagiarism and cheating to me is anathema. All I can offer is my word that I do not engage in such practices, which is about as good as it gets in a situation such as this( I would like to believe that my previous conduct on this forum has shown some modicum of integrity, moderation and honour)

I know that I have no say in the matter, but I cannot understand the reason for the dislike of this thread. If it is the principle of the matter, please say; if it is the concern that it may set a precedent that may later be misused, then please say so. Whatever happens, I'm not bothered, and neither am I going to froth at the mouth about injustice (mainly because there is none in this circumstance), but I wish to have my confusion as to Cornmasters dislike of this thread noted, for what it is worth.

As I said, I'm finished the darned thing now, but wouldn't mind to know what other people think of the question, and the issues involved. It is an interesting issue to explore, IMO.

I was NOT asking for any assistance in writing the paper, but rather just wanted to bounce ideas off the only audience available at 0200 in the morning. I must admit to some degree of bemusement at this situation; a thread like this is not bound to attract many replies, and will soon die a natural death without being locked. The paper is done, and thus now the issue of "homework doing in the forum" is fairly dead, IMO.
Having spent the last few days engaged in the topic, I would just like to discuss it. Is this so sinister?
