Version 2.x bug reports

I have seen this problem a couple of times also. Luckily it has only occurred when I have had the Great Wall and these barbarians have swept across my neighbours with me behind picking off the cities which the barbs leave undefended.:lol:

Oh sure, in my case the barbarian horde mostly splattered Carthage. Sorry if I sounded like "wah wah the barbarians cheated and beat me up," I was just pointing out they shouldn't be spawning Musketmen yet.

Ok, my problem's getting quite weirder. Whenever I try to run Vanilla BTS, with modular loading disabled, it runs fine. However, when I got to load a ROM game, it crashes right after the lobby. If I enable modular loading, Vanilla BTS doesn't even work...

RoM 2.62 noble/huge - can't see what the problem was. Will try loading from a save and running again.

Edit: played through without a crash!

Edit2: happened again latter - bah humbug! - played through from save.

Edit3: and again - remembered the logs this time.

Settings: Barb Civ, Dynamic Names

When I got rid of Barb Civ I only had one crash - not that that necessarly means anything :)

Version: RoM 2.62 (v2.5 Patched with v2.62 Patch)
Difficulty: Warlord
Size: Small
Victory: Conquest
Leader: Julius Caesar / Rome
Settings: Rev Mod, Barb Civ, Minor Civ, Dynamic Names, Peaceful City Flipping

This was the 1st time I submitted log. I hope I did it right. This is the 2nd time it crashed for the same saved game. The 1st time I did not have the log set up to save. Thus the 2nd time i was ready to record it. It was the same error in around the same turn. I also noticed a dog was attacking me both times i crashed.

@Dancing Hoskuld and @Hydromancerx

Couldn't see anything in your log files that might have caused ctd. However I suspect again those dog units... but I can't rule out the possibility that RevDCM sdk has some code situation which might sometimes cause crashes and if this is the case, then we'll just have to sit and wait for Better BtS AI, Revolution, DCM etc. patches...

All those who are having problems, remove Revolutions. Trust me when I say it's not worth all the problems you have. I have never had a CTD at all, and I never play with the unbalanced Revolutions.

Not sure if this should be a bug report strictly or a suggestion for future versions:

I got the "build x Ports" quest, but already had the pre-reqs for Commercial Ports. Commercial Ports replace Ports, thus cities that have Commercial Ports don't count as having Ports (or Harbors, although that doesn't matter in this case.) Not sure if the best solution is "don't have new buildings replace old ones" or "be sure new buildings still count as being the old ones for quests," but whichever is easiest to implement.

2.62 ... you can plant a forest in a region that is already forested.

At me bts 3.17 rom 2.5, after 1690 bc year I can not load the saved game though with preservations till this year problems are not present. At me 2 gig ram. It would be good to play with more than 50 players

@wowa30,
Playing with 50 "player" has been a known problem for sometime, causes game CTDs. As for playing with more than 50 a .dll hasn't been made to handle that type of "load" and your 2 gigs of ram wouldn't handle it either.

I keep meeting this memory problem and crashing to desktop again and again with 2.6 and 2.62. I am going to reinstall the whole game and make a log for this problem. Hope I can solve it before I post the log.

In the enclosed screenshot all the wood and forest tiles around the highlighted worker have Fresh Water - yet they are not adjacent to a river or a lake.

Bug?

Save game enclosed as well. I'm using 2.62

@saladino93

I couldn't get the doc open.

Anyway, I noticed that for some unknown reason the correct, modified, BugPath.py file didn't end up into the v2.62 patch as it was suppose to. Don't know what happened to it.

Here's the modified BugPath.py file in attachment. Unzip it to 'Rise of Mankind\Assets\Python\BUG' -folder. This BugPath.py file allows the CvAltRoot.py file used as I was earlier describing ie. the mod should locate itself correctly if you install the mod under BtS installation folders instead of My documents\My games\Beyond the Sword\Mods' -folder. Just make sure the path in CvAltroot.py file points to correct location.

Easy way to solve would be to make random event python check all port building types... will try to fix it for v2.7.

Plant forest? Basic RoM doesn't have terraforming... :confused:

Jungles provide Fresh Water, it's feature in v2.6.

In surrounding tiles as well? Doesn't make sense to me. They could provide fresh water in their own tile, but it should go away once the jungle is cleared (which would probably make it pointless).

Oh well, it's just a game after all :cool:

Excuse for bad English. I play bts 3.17 rom 2.5. 49 ai opponents. To 1690 bc year saved games I can normally load, after 1690 bc I receive crash saved games

Your problem is 49 AI opponents. That and you're using an older version.

On real life jungle areas it rains just about daily (fresh water) and cutting down the forests doesn't really affect local rain patterns.
