Version 2.x bug reports

Crows? What are you talking about?

Anyhow, walbeek, yes, Zappara and others though it would be lolz worthy, I guess to make King Ritchard's crusade require Christianity, while all other religious buildings work with any religion just about. :(

You actually have to have Christianity to do it as well.

This is actually kind of insulting in a way, because it's saying that Christianity is the only group to deserve Crusades, which it is not. :)
All religions can have Crusades. It just depends on a number of factors.

Crows was trying to write "1000th post!!!!!" without being obvious about it.

I think this is the 4th or 5th time I've had to answer this. The Holy wars for Christianity was a proof of concept for Zappara, to see how workable the crusades was. He has stated he will add more crusades for all the religions in the future.

Sorry, in my defense, I have a bad memory. :(
Really, I didn't mean to drag it out again.

We'll just have to wait and be patient than . No problemo. But the concept IS strange. Especially since CIV offers a lot of "what-if" scenario's. So what if Medival England in King Richard's time wasn't Christian, but some other religion (since the flow of history was quite different since 4000BC) wouldn't they have crusades aswell, but for their other religion? Just an opnion. We'll wait and see what happens. The Civopedia, however, DOES NOT show that christianity is required. It states that STATE RELIGION must be present and that it has advantages to certain HINDU building (since Hindu is the state religion in my current game). This should be corrected in the Civopedia, to avoid the puzzels on how to build the King Richard Crusade (and I asume also the other Crusader buildings).

I started a game on 2.8, I've reached 1810 i think it is, When i try to advance the turn, the game crashes to desktop.
Any idea how to sort this out?

We need a little more information, I'm afraid, Graham.

computer specs, the save game itself, etc.

Please read the OP before posting:

About bug reporting:
  1. If you find bug in the mod try to describe it in detail when you post about it. This helps me to locate it more accurately and faster.
  2. About missing UI problem: Please post what Windows type and language version you are using. Also tell which one you are using, Beyond the Sword or complete Edition.
  3. CTDs ie. Crashs To Desktop, try to provide as much information as possible what happened just before it occurred. Even better if you can upload save game file so I can take a look at it. If you are experiencing CTDs in late game, try reducing graphic settings, BtS is known to have crashes when saved games get big and when there's lots of stuff in late game - most common reason for CTD is that Civ 4 can't find enough free memory.
  4. Some Civ4 Map scripts can not make maps for Giant or Gigantic map sizes.

I'm currently playing a game and I got as far as the medieval ages but I got a lot of random CTD. I say random because when I reload, I can continue just fine. It seems to me to be a memory problem but I got a nvidia 8800 gtx (512mb or 768mb, dont remember) and 4 gig memory (3.25 usable) which seems enough usually. My question is, how can I limit these CTD ? Turning graphics to a minimum ? Or do everyone put up with it and there is nothing I can do ?

Thanks!

Great mod btw :-)

Ah, Terribly sorry, I've attached my save game file. If you need a look at my dxdiag, It's attached to the other thread I started.

Edit: I've added a bug report too

Too large of a file for me. :)
No game I've ever played has gone above 333 KB in any mod. And i've played on Large maps before.
Try to start playing on Normal size maps. Huge and Large are kind of silly, and very stressful in this mod.

Really? I get games that go above 1.5mb. Large maps are fun, but you should have something to do, like an audiobook, for the turn times.

My save-files for the RoM Earth-34 scenario were routinely over 2 Mb once I'd reached 1200 AD or so :)

There's no real need to play on above average maps though? Weird.

Anyhow, my largest map was a Large, but I'm certain I never got above 333KB. Maybe a little higher. The save has long since been deleted though.

Normal is fine, it's stable, doesn't cause silly bloating issues, and less MAFs.

Why? That's just player preference.

I play Giant maps now all the time, Epic speed. Only 1 CTD in 3 2.8beta games so far. My saves reach 1.5+mb.

But I only play with up to 11 AI. And I don't use Rev, Barb Civ or SaM and no ModMods either

It's a Beta version so I'm playing just Core RoM. This way if I find a bug/problem it's More RoM specific.

How much ram do you have though

I tried doing a game on a standard map, when this time, the game got up to 1902 and crashed two turns afterwards. i've included the save file again.
