It has something to do with the hidden cow level in Diablo 2. The cows (Hell Bovine?) are quite tough to fight - if they surround you. You get there with the Horadric Cube, Wirts Leg and a Tome of Town Portal, which creates a portal

That's definitly correct, Olav. The cows have one main weakness: No resistance against elemental damage.
