Well, it is realistic. Just not the ram thing. Maybe make rams not able to attack?
 
Just a further comment on my quest to add Warlord units back to A New Dawn: so far I have found no problems after following the procedure that I explained on the last page. I have now built a few of these units, attacked with them, the AI has them as well, etc. Everything seems to be going A-OK.
 
Suggestion: Perhaps the Super Spies Mod would fit in nicely with the mod?

It would indeed. Me and stolenrays made an attempt to isolate/update the core for 3.19 and he succeded, so when I remake the dll, it will contain the superspies mod. The 3 extra spies in VIP was originally made for superspies in RoM.

I even made a banner for it back then ;)

Another thing: I think the maps hate me. I have played Cheiftan, Noble, and Monarch difficulties, and I hadno Horse, Ivory or Camel unless I played Cheiftan. So, no mounted units for me! ZExcept when I played the Arabs, I wb'd myself some camels for realisticism.
 
As I'm migrating from ROM-AND, your mod it's a great hope for me :) I see that you implemented much of the concepts with an improved AI, which IMHO was the great problem of the final stages of AND (tha AI was unable to understand the new technologies/buildings/concepts) so I'm going immediatley trying it! Dwnloading !!:goodjob:

Same on my first map too... There is no one in all my continent. So this is not coincidence I'm sure :rolleyes: Those resources need a tweak. :cry:

In other aspects, until now everything goes perfect, I think I'm going to love this mod like I loved sometime ROM-AND :king:

How many AI did you put in?

What Map did you use?

What's wrong with having a Continent to yourself? (I personally love it. That way I can develop without outside pressures. And then when I do met the AI I get to see how good or bad my development strategy was. It's Fun for me.)

What mapscripts are you running?

Continents and Custom continents with normal resources. By the way, it's not so important because after some turns (150 or so) some horses appeared on my pastures... :)

Another comments about my game (still running on renaissance era):

- I feel the enormous graphics for great wonders and cities a bit bizarre, for my personal taste. Specially because suddenly my cities get plagued with great strange columns or so... :eek: screenshot below

- The system for Firearms it's very absurd, or perhaps I don't understand it right well :confused: because you have some IMHO stupid solutions for getting FireArms:
1- Wait for a great engineer, which could happen never in the game :confused:
2- Getting a great general, so if you have no firearms and your neighbours have, your only solution would be to make war with your more powerful enemies hoping to get a great general before get annihilated...:sad:
3- Wait for having a great warlord or captain or colonel, which I don't really understand what it is (if you refer to Great general, come back to solution 2 :rolleyes: )
4- Wait until firearms appear in your workshops, which could happen never in the game (specially if you have a plague of bows and arrows in your workshops, which by the way you cannot remove :mad: )

- Repeating myself, I don't understand differences between great warlord, warlord chief, great corporal and so... Civilopedia it's still a bit uncomplete (I suppose you don't need to be remembered about that but... :lol: )

- Since I don't play vanilla BTS for ages, I don't know if there was some indicators on the little unit images appointing which is the unit doing; fortify, sleeping, healing... if there were not, please add it taking from any mod. If you removed them, please restore it :goodjob:

- Where is the Great General progress bar?? :confused: And the great people one???

I don't remember any more at the moment, will continue playing this week. I only comment the "bugs" because in other aspects the mod it's the best at the moment, and it's not possible to list all the positive thing I see. Excepting the FireArms issue, I don't see any problem to continue enjoying it until the end of the game :king:

More comments:

- I've found the combat experience bar. The great people ones are on the city info too. Sorry, I was accostumed to ROM-AND where they are much more obvious

- Why there is no Anarchy between changes? Is it intentional or a bug? I prefer a bit of anarchy at least, great changes need a bit of reorganization in real life.

Suggestion: Please add USABLE MOUNTAINS mod, I think it's a must be in all mods... I've never understood the stupid reason why peaks became impassable in Civ4...:confused:

After playing a bit more, I have reconsidered the Firearms issue; I must recognize humbly that it is not so bad idea as I thought, because you can obtain some weapons by trade, and so making an attack to get the great general, but there are some more clarifications:

-There should be a way to dismantle Bows&Arrows or IronWeapons Wokshops and leve then the chance of replacing them for more advanced weapons, those for automatic and so consecutively forward.

- Please, implement immediately some way to release a vassal!! It's irritating to have to live eternally without declaring war on it :mad: If I remember well it was possible on ROM-AND
