I've created a monster....muahahahahahaha

In WOC, I would like to see a Barbarian or Pirate Civ if possible. I love to play with that black flag as the bad guy!

Hey what about weather? Wouldn't it be awesome to be playing and all of a sudden the planet gets hit by an ice age? or maybe and earth quake happens and one your cites falls into the ocean? There's already a scenario in BTS that uses the ice age idea, any land that's on the east side of a mountain range is able to produce food and such, while land on the west is a frozen waist land, I would really like to see something like this in WoC to, maybe I should post this question in that forum, um...:scan:

could you add the kingdom of Benin civ to this modpack?

Nope....same answer to your same post in Amra's thread....

ViSa will no longer have any development in Warlords....and the BtS mod is WoC as listed in my sig.

let me start by saying this is by far the best mod i have played. and me and my friends totally appreciate your efforts. you guys are great.

i have a couple of questions/suggestions

is it possible to have troop rally points. what i mean is when your city builds a unit.....is it possible to have that troop automatically go to a certain rally point that is chosen by the user? this would be great during war time. when your trying to get your troops to the front line. and this would take hours of needless gameplay out.

and also, it would be nice to be able to mass control troops and workers. later in the game it is a pain in the ass to control workers. i would like to select a group of workers and be able to move them all at once instead of individually doing it. is that possible.

thank you in advance,
hammer

Hi hammer glad you like ViSa,

1. Rally Point is a good idea, I always wondered if something could be done with the ping along those lines. You are the first to mention it so its doubtful.

2. Workers and late game IS a pain in the ass. I start grouping 4 units together and move them as one. Thereby counting build time down to one turn. I will say that in BTS I think its even worse. Man do not automate them in BTS, its a waste of time. ViSa you could automate them IMHO, until war time or latter years.

Good luck and be looking for our BTS project in my signature.

There is a "Go to" option build into civ4 you just active the city in world screen hold down shift and click the point you want you new unit to go to. Its also mentioned in the tutorial build into the game.

I use same worker trick as mentionen above. just group a few workers then you save some time. I also often use Automated workers. Though they are not actually smart, it do spare some time. And afterall if you have improved the most importent thing it dosent matter that much you workers act a bit stupid. Just make sure to use the "Automated workers leave old improvment" option. I just hate when workers rebuild my towns into workshops :(

Once again thanks for your guys responses. i appreciate them. as far as the above poster telling about the go to option. that totally defeats the purpose of what i am trying to accomplish. let me try to explain myself a little better.

*I think it is imperitive that you have a rally point

*I think it is imperitive that you have a city automation that actually works

now what i mean is we need a city automation button where we can click the little button, just like the city automation button that is on the city screen now. but instead of the city building whatever it wants to. the city should continualy build what you have selected. for example if i have moder armor selected and click the city automation button it will automatically keep producing modern armor until it is changed by the user. i think this is a must have and shouldnt be to hard to implement. but i dont know for sure it could be.

rally points-i have played a couple of games where you coudl set a rally point. it was quite simple really. you just go to the city screen have a "set rally point" button. you click the button and then an arrow appears on the screen. and you move the arrow to the tile you want to the troops to automatically go to after production and select that tile. you should have a rally point option for every city built or taken. now with those 2 combined, it will save massive amounts of time and it would definately help out slower computers.

* also i was thinking couldnt there be a way to have one screen that listed all of your cities and allowed you to control all of your cities from that one screen? like for example it would list top to bottom(biggest size city to smallest size city) and i could just scroll through the screen changing city production and city tiles used etc. etc.

* how about global control over the specialists in your cities. how about a screen we could go to and make every city the ability to produce a specialist appear in that screen and you could click for example the scientist button. now once clicked all of your cities would change one specialist or one tile used to a scientist if that city had the scientist specialist option. the same thing for engineers, the same for priest the same for the wealth option the same for the research option, etc. etc.

*basically what i am saying is we need more global control of our cities and our units. there is just too much time spent on cycling through cities in my opinion and any civ fanatic would agree im sure.

i would like to hear your guys thoughts and suggestions.

once again i love your mod and you guys do a tremendous job. that is why i am here trying to make suggestions to make it even better.

thanks in advance,
hammer

hammer, we aren't doing anything with ViSa but will be porting things to WoC that are not already in other mods for BtS. Mostly ViSa is just a ton of other modcomps so there won't really be a 'ViSa for BtS' exactly....most of the elements of ViSa for Warlords will be available but each player will have a bunch more flexibility to choose each game with their own options.

firehawk,

once again i appreciate the quick response. i realized after i posted that you werent doing anymore for visa. so i moved my suggestions over to the bts thread. sorry about the double posting.

anyway, me and my buddy have a bunch of suggestions. we will start writing them all down as we play and post them for you guys. this is coming from the gamers. so i figure it should be pretty good information.

thanks,
hammer

Yes we still want players info on ViSa as much of that will help in the WoC as well.

Huge pangaea marathon as the persians. I just researched construction and want to build some catapults in my military city, which is equipped with barracks, stables, walls and city guard. Guess what my advisors tell me: Your catapult gets a amphibious promotion. Instead of Catapult your city guard provides a hwacha  . Not bad. But you never know if this unit is as good as the rumours (I also got peltasts instead of archers  , what a pain in the a**). So I start looking the Visapedia. Visapedia states hwacha replaces catapult and requires STEEL  ? Strange but looking at the stats it says THIRTEEN instead of FOUR. Not bad. :king:

:hmm: But then I start looking around. Who else has construction. I know the ai has the city guard build quite often. So how many Hwachas will I come across. I'm still fighting with axes. :(

In the meantime I'm making some trouble with my now city raider promoted hwacha. I don't even have to bombard city defenses :D. But twenty turns later I`m about to conquer the Arabian Holy city of Hinduism, they start rushing a hwacha right before my eyes. At least they don't get defensive bonus. City bombard and bombard of 12 battering rams weaken it enough for my heavily, heavily promoted axeman (120+ EXP) to kill. :goodjob:

For the essence never play Korea no cats, no hwachas till steel, but you can come across your own unique unit at the most unpleasant time. So this is a hell of a unique unit.

For the records: though the story was quite fun, I'd like to have the hwacha problem solved. Otherwise I'm a little bit nervous to step up from noble.

Sounds like we got a typo on that unit....weird it was never reported before by the other thousands of players....

It was version 3.1. Custom game. Huge map. Barbs raging. 24 civs. It could be a typo indeed as the visapedia states it as korean equivalent to cats at least in my version.

BTW I'm utterly surprised that no one noticed that before.
