We got this message from Firaxis this morning:

we really need our fans to come to our rescue in Escapist Magazine’s March Madness contest. Each March, the magazine asks their fans to vote for their favorite developer. Last year, we got paired against Bungie in Round 1, and your votes kept it super-competitive throughout.

This year, though, we’ve drawn Square Enix in our first round! They’re crushing us! Can you rally your communities and bring the vote for us? As of this morning, we’re losing at nearly 2:1.

Thanks very much for your help!

I just went and voted. Fairly painless - they do require registration, but a facebook login can be used.

So go help Firaxis!

I haven't heard of the others guys so go Firaxis!

Neither had I

Apparently, they make Final Fantasy & Supreme Commander (which I had heard of).

They're the makers for Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, Chrono Trigger and Cross and a lot of other JRPGs. SupCom is made by Gas Powered Games.

I voted for Firaxis, because Civ is a very important piece of my life. Probably the most important in the gaming world. I've never understood what's so special with Square's games.

LOL I voted once. Square Enix makes great games but Civ still the one that teaches you history...and all the mistakes that men had made. :)

Square games keep the player interested for quite a while, but a Civilization player can die of starvation if he doesn't play in moderation.

I did too... Well, a little ballot box stuffing never hurt anyone, did it?:mischief:

The 2000 US election says differently, also Square Enix is winning probably because of it

I went Firaxis...Square has died in my heart since they made FF8

It is kinda meaningless to vote in a meaningless Escapist Forum. It is also meaningless to vote for Firaxis since it is not their popularity that is in sake, but the quality of the next upcoming products that will be released in the next upcoming years. So far, they only got pretty much one Flagship title in their arsenal, and there is no sign on whether they will have another or even moredifferent Flagship titles like other companies.

count on me, just voted. but the oher side is far ahead in votes. need more volunteers for the Firaxis. . .

As much as I love Civilization, it's Firaxis' only great franchise.

Square Enix has the Final Fantasy (which, by the way, is unique in that it redefines the genre's standards with every release - something very few other franchises can claim), Mana, Grandia, Front Mission, Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts, Supreme Commander...

Square's got the bigger guns with games that are highly popular within several different genres (mostly console RPG's). Firaxis isn't going to beat them, guys - I'm suprised the numbers are even close to 2-1.

All JRPGs are bad though, so it evens out.

EDIT: It's a lot closer than when I initially voted, when it was about 80% vs 20%. On the comeback trail!

Uuuuuum... How do you vote more than once?

And yeah, that's probably why Square Enix is winning. The OP on that poll makes us sound like nerdy losers.
