Make peace with Hittites, no need to trigger their GA (get 1gp, all they have). Ack, we got War Happiness from them, but still, we do not need more enemies.
IBT:
Spear at Iron Port defeats 4 German Archers, loosing a single HP. Chop at Karakorum finishes a much needed Horse.

Turn 2: 110BC
Tashkent: Cats do their job; Horse kills Aztec Sword.
IBT:
Germans drop of an Archer in our core.
Alesia (Celts) completes ToA – are they now our Arch-enemy ;)?

Turn 3: 90BC
Kill German Archer. Kill an Egypt Archer.
IBT:
Oh-oh, Aztecs and Egypts show up in larger numbers.

Turn 4: 70BC
Army kills 3 Egyptian Archers, and we can get peace and 100gp; take a discount on Construction instead (cost us 256gp). One less enemy makes peace with Russia and Vikings close.

Turn 5: 50BC
Bishbalik has happiness problems, and not enough improved tiles to work; switched to a Settler for the Gems.
Kill Aztec Spear and Sword at Khanbalik.
IBT:
Viking Warrior impales on the Walls of Tashkent.

Turn 6: 30BC
Kill another Viking Warrior, still no straight peace.
Kill 2 Spears at Aachen, reg Archer left.
Army kills 1 Aztec Sword at Khanbalik

Quite lucky, 4 Aztec Swords and 2 Archers only manage to kill the Elite Spear at Khanbalik, even a Horse defends successfully against a Sword.

Turn 7: 10BC
Elite Horse kills redlined Aztec Sword at Khanbalik, and we get a MGL! Think I’ll use him to rush the Heroic Epic in Tashkent, this is the one city we cannot afford to loose to a flip to Celts (because of the Horses). And it has some useful tiles after expansion.
Make peace with Monty, discount on CoL; would cost 190 from Celts, 115 from Monty, but I hire lots of Taxmen to get a positive income, and get it for 6gpt and 7gp.
Autoraze Aachen, get two Slaves there.

Ok, we do not benefit from continuing the war against Germany as long as we have no Settlers at hand to claim their territory; we’re only making Cleo a big present that way, especially since she lacks Horses so far. Make peace for his 5gp.
This also allows peace with Russia; swap Construction for Literature (useless for us, but Germany lacks it; small chance we can get something for it in a trade). Hey, Russia gets Engineering; unknown so far. That gives me an idea:

I gift Germany into MA, and Otto gets Engineering as well :dance: – get it for Monarchy, Literature and 135gp.
Get Mono from Egypt for Engineering and 130gp.
Can get peace and 20gp from Ragnar…or, since he lacks Mono and Eng, I can get Feudalism and 117gp for Mono and Eng. Make that deal, of course.
Eng to Celts for 575gp. Mono to Germany for 130gp.

Net: 3 expensive Techs and Literature, 727gp for nothing :D.
We’re at Tech parity, only Republic is known to the AI.
Set research to Chivalry; anything but minimum is pointless, though.

Switch our 3 best cities to Markets, and start some Settlers.

Turn 8: 30AD
Scratch the idea with the HE, I better rush the FP in Tashkent – Team call!

Pro:
*The sooner, the better.
*City has good shield potential, and our Horses.
*City is nearly optimally placed; 3rd ring, main expansion direction.

Contra:
*City is under slight cultural pressure from the Celts; but IMHO we should be all means whack them ASAP again anyway. Current risk is 0.024%, 6 units required; no problem, we’d need 3 MPs anyway.

I’ll finish my turns once we’ve decided.

what's your intention for gem city? we won't claim them without expansion, which will be difficult to get.
 
I vote for FP,we'll get HE in 1st ring city anyway.
It really hurts that Celts razed Gem City with 40g in my turn,so I suggest a Colony,save time,save city,and save money.

Edit:1st ring cities don't benefit much from border expansion...but where can we build this Heroic Epic?

Rush a Settler in Bishbalik to complete with growth.

Turn 10: 50AD
*Settler in place for the Gems city. IMHO that is the best spot, with culture in Tashkent. That spot will prvenet the AI from settling somewhere there in the Tundra, while having the most good tiles (Grass, Hills).
*Settler near Karakorum: Rubbles of the Celtic city.
*Bishkek Settler: Southern red dot from my last post (where the Vet Horse is). That is a pretty good city spot - if we build the HE there. Rush a Courthouse, and then get the HE there; will take ages, but the border expansion there will pull a lot of tiles for Bishkek and Bukhara.
*Remember to put 6-7 units into Tashkent (not the Army, of course!), to eliminate the flip risk.
*We need the Markets and Granaries, but after that, nothing but military; strike the Celts, especially Camuludonum next. Don't forget to have a few Settlers at hand.
*We need more Workers, especially around Tashkent and Bukhara. We need to chop the Forests S of Tashkent to bring Irrigation there, get a unit there to prevent an AI city.
*I rushed a Vet Warrior in Iron Port; the Worker needs 4 more turns to connect our Iron again, so you can rush another one there for future (emergency) upgrades. Maybe get a few more as cheap MPs in core cities (Ulaanbataar makes 5spt).

We definitely needs MP and Unit support,and we must settle tight for the barbaric Variant,I think building warrior as MP is a good idea,who can find those cheap man ever since we connect Iron?

As hard as it may seem with the Egyptians and Aztecs knocking, we must fight the Celts very soon; they're running away with it. They are huge, they're doing all the research for the AI, thus are dead-rich, have all resources, some crucial wonders (I don't want to face too many Crusaders), and they are a permanent cultural threat.
Can we afford to fight defensively against Cleo, obtain Chivalry somehow (steal?), fend off the Aztecs (IIRC they lack Horses), and focus on Brennus?

RL is pressing so here's the abbreviated version.

The rest is much of the same: incoming enmey troops on all fronts. IIRC only loses were 5/5* horse at Otrar and a 4/4 pike at Otrar. Started HE to improve leader chances, not for culture. With all the incoming troops, Tashkent is doing minimal shields so we don't have alot invested in it. Next player can change.

MDI army is up and running. Everyone wants concessions for peace.

Ok Im back just in time it seems, will play it tomorrow (5th)...
REEDIT : had an unexpected time constraint, will finish either late on wed or early thursday

almost done with the game, got another leader made a keshik army, now waiting for another one to rush pentagon. Heroic Epic almost done, made peace with aztec and hittites, hitting germans and celts hard, next player will have to make some settlers to fill in gaps and reduce maintenance costs...
 
Ok our military is getting really big and we can really pound on the celts and germans.
Next player should really start building some settlers to fill in gaps and lower maintenance, I would call that top priority.That and getting a leader for Pentagon.
I burned 2 cities, but the first one Wien, I forgot to burn on capture, so I didnt get free workers (I abandonned immediatly though).

PLease note the save is at start of 550, as I was sorta in a hurry at that point, very sorry.
