Warhammer Fantasy Mod 2.0

Cool, I didn't know captured wonders would do that. Oh man that could get really scary.

About the wonders-keep-pushing-out-units issue:
I myself have with success used this to my advantage many times, and I guess many others have. It has even happened that I've waited for my enemy to have built such a wonder before trying to conquer the city in question, just to get my hands on the units.
IMHO this is wrong though. It kind of ruins the atmosphere when you're playing Slann and suddenly you're amassing your knights and going off to war. Doesn't fit, but I guess you could remod it a bit.

I was showing this mod to a friend and discovered this graphics glitch in the civilopedia ... just wondering if this is a problem with my downloaded version?

The image in the 'Thrall' entry is extended out of the image box.
Hmm.. I can think of only one explanation: you have accidentally edited the civilopedia pediaicon by yourself, since that extending happens when you have bigger than 32x32 pixel image linked there. Check the folder Civ3PTW\Art\Civilopedia\Icons\Units for a file called x_gallic swordsman civpedia sm.pcx. That file should be 32 x 32 pixels in size.

Can anybody can send me some maps for WH2 Mod. I downloaded the mod and the patch and there are no maps included ... Where should i look for ?

10x in advance,
Kitty.

That error's been there since the public release... check your own in-game civilopedia aaglo, it's there ;) IIRC the warlord and thrall combo only got added into the beta right at the end (If at all?), so we all kinda missed it. I'm not sure what the problem is though, I'd presume if it were simple ED would have fixed it by now. Or maybe no-one's brought it to his attention before? Who knows.

I personally quite like it when you capture a wonder designed for one civ and you get its benefits anyway! Although on that particular example, recent WD's and the Ogre Kingdoms have shown that the civ advance "Monotheism" with the holy war wonder is particularly unsuitable to be allowed for the Ind, given they worship a 1000 gods (Or was it 1001?)...

The Shadow, i e mrtn, knows... I've told embryodead about it, but probably in the 2.03 beta.

This is quite hard to change. I suppose you could change the wonder to go obsolete with a specific govt, but that's about it, i e only one third of the civs are affected...

I like the wonder thing. It makes it appear as if the conquered country is now serving under your armies, instead of going completly extinct. Nothing wrong with that.

I've just finished my WH standard map. Maybe you'd like to check it out. You will find it in the user-created maps section - Scytale's standard Warhammer map thread. It's not original warhammer geography but I think it may be worth your while :D
Enjoy!

Thanks a lot - i like this map and i started to play on it already.

One more question: Embryonhead did not release any scenario add-on after the WH Mod 2.0 as he said he would do ?

Kitty.

Not yet, at least. I think he wrote five exams or something like that last week.

I suspected that is was probably a small glitch that was over looked, it is only in the graphics as you can still click and get the 'Thrall' info. ;)

BTW Could someone translate 'IIRC' ... it's probably very obvious and I'll kick myself afterwards

As the Slann game was my first introduction to the use of Sacrifice :p ... My frustration is that since I rarely go to war other than to defend myself and in the current game wared mainly with non-human races, this reduced the posibility of aquiring sacrificial lambs

Has anyone considered being able to sacrifice your own workers and other units or even being able to sacrifice the units spawned by Small and Large Wonders.

ie. The 'agents' and 'holy warriors' spawned by the captured Wonders or the 'Saurus Warriors' which are produced every 8 turns by the Spawning Pools in my cities. At the moment I am disbanding the 'Saurus Worriors' to hurry city improvements in newly captured cities.

Although I suspect that spawned units with no upkeep cost would not produce any culture when sacrificed  and would therefore not be an option for the Wonder units  .

I became addicted to appeasing the Hiss Gods in return for cultural expansion :D I use this to quickly expand the city radius for newly captured large populated cities.

Anyway thanks Guys :goodjob:

IIRC means If I Recall Correctly, though some heretics say it's rather If I Remember Correctly.

AFAIK you can only sacrifice foreign units.

It's a mod and not a scenario. Just play with random maps. That's the idea of it . There are a couple of maps that members of the forum have made. Just look through old posts.

Most posts that have downloadable maps (that are up to date) starts around page 80, give or take a few pages.

To save people from searching through this amazingly massive thread I've started up a "Preset" maps thread in the User made maps subforum. If people want to stick stuff there it would certainly save me alot of time searching through old posts :)

"AFAIK you can only sacrifice foreign units." - Mrtn quote

Im not sure about this mod but in the normal game you can sacrifice your own workers if the sacrificing option is enabled. And im pretty sure i can remember being able to sacrifice my own chaos workers. Might be wrong though....
