Warhammer Fantasy Mod 2.0

Don't know about unbalancing, but unrealistic (relatively), yes. You can also build airships as the dwarfs! ;)

Come on, teleporting gate unrealistic in a fantasy mod? I thought it was quite common spell ;) I'm not so "into" Warhammer world, but aren't there any ways of teleporting to long dinstances created by mages or something like that? :)

I don't think it is used that much in WH, the Chaos Gates being the exeption.

But why are you complaining, just play the Chaos;)

On my way right now ;) Just can't wait to build that gate :D

Mr Yoda Power, if you look at the time for our posts, you can see that we replied at the same time, unless you are... :crazyeye:

Teleportation gates/ chambers are stalwart aspects of sci-fi, not fantasy. I'm talking independently of the Warhammer world, I can't remember the last time I saw a fantasy movie without a long hard trek across the world even though they might have a wizard in their group...

ROFLOL!

i agree, teleportation isnt warhammer

I believe that back before WH vs. 2.0 came out there was an extremely long debate about teleportation improvements & railways. Basically, I think, the conclusion at the time was there was no way that embroydead was going to put them into the game. Chaos Gate is an exception, but as was stated earlier, it only allows the teleportation of selected units, and from my limited experiance, and others experiance playing as Chaos; demons are not cost effective units to compose your entire army out of. Anyway, this might be yet another thing to add to the FAQ...

@embryodead - Hi there, great mod! :goodjob:

Have just started playing around with it but just had a couple of questions based on earlier posts;

1) What software package did you create the leaderheads in?

2) I saw several people asking about Skaven, and the various reply's were lack of unit graphics. If I remember correctly there was a Warhammer game for the PC that came out 5-6 years ago (exact title eludes me ...Shadow of the Horned Rat or something), did you check to see if the unit graphics in that game were usable at all?

Thanks for all your (and everyone who assisted) hard work...

Steel General- I think he uses Poser, but I'm not sure. I don't think embryodead has any experience in converting units. Also I doub't they can be used, usually some animations are different/missing in most other games.

I'm starting a campaign to get the Chaos Dwarf civ into this mod. I opened a request thread: Click Me!

I suggest everyone who would like this civ in the mod go to the thread and show how important it is these units gets made!

Thank you:)

YP - Thanks for the response...I thought it might be poser (or something similar).

I would help if i had the ability.

Ed must have had some help at least converting units seeing as there are alot units from Age of Empires 2 in it :)

Units from Shadow of the Horned Rat are not convertable... look at the screenshots again and imagine how would that look in civ3 ;)

How long till the patch?

I've just finnished a game playing Lhamia. This MOD will make CIV3 live for ever. It just grows for every time it's played. And while still on that note, Lhamia has a few problems. Vampires are too good for an early unit, and Blood dragons come after undead state is in effect. This means that the only two troops a Lhamian player is going to use in a game is vampires, (early) and skelletons, (and possibly zombies, later in the game). Which is a horrid waste of such fine 3D-modelling skills put into the other units. I'd rather see Lhamian vampire with attack 6. They're still good and with the skeletons popping up in their wake they're still a worse nuisance than herpes. Blood dragons should come in the second age and be a lot weaker, 9 or 8 in attack. The undead state is a killer, at least if the Lhamian player playes his cards right and that means that in all fairness they shouldn't have any troops with attack-values over 10. That would make a more interesting game, IMHO. I enjoy games where tactics makes a difference and in the game I just played I was just relieved when my oponent killed off my troops, I had so many it took for ever just loading them on and off my boats. Not much tactics involved. It would also be more fun if the undead curse would wake up dead more seldom and in all the cities, not only on the home continent. The thing that it only works on the home continent makes no sense to me. If a Lahmian player starts solo on a small island they're ****ed before they even get started. As it is now it's the size of the starting island that totaly dictates win or lose toward the end.

I salute you Embryodead

First of all this is a great mod this will make civ last for years in game fun :)

I have a beginners question: I have a problem loading spells onto a druid or a mage how do i do that? I can relocate to cities but how do i get it on to my mage :)

Nibenay, you can no longer load spell onto 'Mages' since the new patch. This was done so that you can now transport all ground units on boats (it did seem a bit silly that a vampire could not be transported along with skeletons). To make up for this there is instead the worker ability to build spell towers to hold them spells aswell as them cities.

High-elves should be able to carry magic on their ships, and maybe Naggaroth.

Well we'd better get noto Aaglo to make some spellship units then! ;)

(Presumably such ships could actually carry the spells like submarines carry cruise missiles in the epic game?)
