Ok, hope you like it but keep in mind a lot we made isn't in that version yet. JP promised to release a nonstable testversion after eastern. If you want to see the new stuff pm JP, we can always use more betatesters;)

I think it wont be possible to give the books to units, so you see that it is a special book. i think they have to be inventary items... they will have a unique graphic each, but not be visible on units.

I think it would be great if you could do some xml stuff and with such taking part of Js work, cause we really need Js other skills more!

By the way, we could need someone who wants to dive into the formation thing! i thought about some more variations with it. it is really easy, but it consumes time, so i would like someone else to do it.
 
Hey everybody!

Just wanted to inform you that i´m back from some learning time i took for myself. :mischief:

If you would send me the new Techtree JP, i´ll see how much of the buttons i can do this weekend for the next release, because i won´t go home for holidays.

And one other question i got concerns the runes you wanted for promotions. I think they were for the magic units so maybe i should do them with another background colour, like orange or even purple. Just tell me what you think about it.

And one should have a look at the mercenaries mod, because it got updated by the lopez and i think it really fits into the Fantasy/WH theme!
 
@Duke: Glad you're back. Here's an old visual of the tech tree. It's old, but all of the techs that are on there are the ones I'm using. It's all in TXT_KEY, but I think it's easy to understand. PM me if you don't understand anything.

I think it's a good idea, having different color for the runes than the normal upgrades, go with it.

I wouldn't mind doing a little XMLing. so far the only things i can do properly are adding Civs and leaders, Changing civs and leaders, and diplomacy texts but not much besides ;). I had a play with adding a UU to the mod (i was bored and REALLY wanted to play around with your Dryad model, its awsome by the way :D ) and managed to get it working in-game, only problem is it has the archer graphics and other races can use it :(.

Any who, i wouldnt mind doing some basic XML work for this mod because it rocks;)
 
@PL- How'd you like to do a bit o' TXT_ XML'ing? That's one thing I really need and doesn't require a lot of knowledge to do...

I'm still looking for someone to really take over the XML so I can direct and look at the SDK...

@JP: if any of those aren´t exactly what they should look like, send me a better quality scan (because the ones i got from you are like 10×10 pixels per rune) of those and i´ll redo them.
 
All this Warhammer stuff has me wanting to get into the actual miniature game. But I feel safe in the knowledge that I can't afford it. ;)

So for now I'll just sit back and wait for the next release.

It already was expensive 8 years ago, don´t want to know what they charge nowadays for let´s say a lindwyrm miniature :confused:

And i´m also waiting for the next release :crazyeye:

Doing this has also given me the Warhammer bug, I've been painting a lot more of my old units that I never got around to, as well as spending more than I can afford on ebay for new models :p. (BTW if anyone has one of the old Chaos Dwarf Earthshakers for a decent price, I really want two for a modified army of mine...)

Ah well.

Ploe did you ever finish the steam tank? I've gotten around to adding units to the beta, and that'd be nice...np if you're not done.

Well, i will do the finishing, but had no time for it until now, the skin will need a quick overwork and then we got our steamtank, well should add a smoke effect at the back to resamble that it is a "steam" tank!
I will overwork steamtank and flaggelants from ploe and send them to you after ive done them :P so you can simple add the steamtank entries and put in the files after you get em ;)

@DUKE: nice runes there, looks great! How far are you with the interface graphics?! i think this will be the most effective in changing atmosphere from vanilla to warhammer!

Not anything near completion or even getting something good started, I took
a week off for University (needed to do some learning) - now that sounds rather strange "took a week off for University":confused: - should be the other way round :)

I think i´ll have to dig into the python files from TGA for that and that´s something I´m a complete noob at! (the problem is I get a can´t load CvEventinterface.py when i try to load something with the interface files)

I think i must get a hold on the Alpha phase files of the WH40K Mod to get any further.

EDIT: I had a look at the units thread (haven´t been there for 2 or 3 weeks) and saw all those amazing units made for the Mod :eek:
I want that new release now! :cry: It has really improved a lot since the last - and in such a short time!
Keep up the great work you folks are all doing :goodjob:
 
Mmmm flagellants and witch-hunters. Always my favourite units of the empire, they're so completely representative of the empire zeitgeist. i.e. insanity. :lol:

Once this mod is done, im starting a game with three or four empires. Get a civil war of sorts going. See if the imperial fanatics come out on top of the electors and karl franz. :lol: Imagine, armies of flagellants.

There's an idea for a scenario...

And how is Nehekhara coming along? Looking forward to that.

There can be so many great scenarios! would be nice if u would take the quest on doing some. :king:

For that purpose i would do some quick changes to the skins, so your civil war can be fought between several nice looking empire fractions ;) The flaggelants will get their finish soon. For real undead we need a real skeleton body, otherwise it wouldnt fulfill the quality standards ;) ;)

But as time comes, we will have them too ;) until then u will have to play wth whatever is possible to create right now.

I have to admit most are not as good as i wanted them to be. But well, they are for a beta release - there´ll be plenty of time to make better ones :mischief:

I don't know about anyone else, but since I installed patch 1.61, Warhammer doesn't run.

but to answer your question, yes i would be glad to do some TXT_XMLing for you. what kind were you thinking?
