Maybe we should make Goblins a different civ altogether since the greenskins have such a large variety in coreunits that would do good for two civs UUs, maybe with some overlaps.

Just wanted to do something different with Photoshop so I re-did the second Haargroth pic to have a background and proper size. Not sure if that's what you had in mind Ploep but here it is.

Nice one Rabbit, though it could use a little bit more contrast, IMO (something light Contrast +15, brightness +10?).

I also reworked most of the pics that were posted here, but didn´t had the time to do a new background for Haargroth (I suggest we take the one by Rabbit, or I do one with a glacier in the background - because it´s norse after all.)

So here are the ones i reworked (If you aren´t happy with some white backgrounds: they are only in there, cause I wanted to show off a bit with the quality you can get from really small pictures )

Hope you like it. If you're gonna use it, the background image was made by Roberto Campus.

That's freaking awesome Rabbit! But I think the background will be in somewhere else. I had something frosty in mind. Haargroth is Norse. So some snow and ice think would fit better. Well this is no final word since the pic looks terribly cool like that maybe we use it inspite of the latter fact.

Ok like what you're doing. I trust you fully with the backgrounds. Vlad should really be the darker one. This redarmoured Vampire we still might use for a second LH for sylvanians later. For Azhag lets use the head for now the other orcs looks too regular to be a Warboss. The face isn't perfect but indifferent to that. I'll search for further alternatives for him.
Make sure the files are named like this:
NAMEbutton.dds
NAME.dds
Maybe you should try that link above. Very good qualitypics there are for backround and also for LHs. I'm not sure how long my connection works, so you could try your luck there too

Nagash isnt a ghost either, and he isnt on the Tomb kings side! he is on the vampire counts side! Settra and Khalida are the true rulers of Nehekara (sorry been wanting to say that for weeks )

I like the pic above posted better for Grimgor if you can pimp it up(post 771, and yes maybe better not using the warcraft pics-there's gonna be a warcraft mod too after all). Still hoping to find a real Azhagpic, we'll see.

About Nagash and Khalida. Thx for the advise. We really need more poeple knowing WH-Lore posting here! If you would like to join the Team again P.L. as our Loremaster that would make me very happy.

Lol ok Ploe. I had my last Exam today (WOHOOO ) so heres a breif history of Khalida.(EDIT: i had typed up the full history of khalida, but the internet decided to crap itself)

Khalida Neferher - Beloved of the Asp Goddess, Tomb Queen of the Eastern Desert.

"High Queen Khalida, the Warrior-Queen of Lybaras, was highly respected across all the lands of Nehekhara and adored by her subjects. Her intelligence, temper and bravery were as legendary as her beauty, as was her intense sense of honour and justice. Her reign was tragically short, cut down as she was in her prime. All of Nehekhara mourned her passing, for they knew she would have brought great glory to the empire.

The priests and priestesses of the Asp Goddess undertook the burial of the Queen, for they recognised that the blessing of their divine mistress was upon her, even in death. Khalida was embalmed and placed in a seated position within a specially made reliquary within the temple of the blessed Asp in Lybaras. There she sits unmoving, her face concealed behind a beautiful death mask created in her likeness. In times of dire need, when her homeland is threatened, the power of the Asp Goddess infuses her ancient limbs. Gracefully, she rises from her seated position, and glides across the temple floor, commanding the doors to open with a delicate motion of her hand. Her flesh slowly starts to return to its former beauty, gradually becoming as pale and hard as pristine white marble.

"Of all the kings of Nehekhara, none could match the splendour, cruelty and arrogance of Settra, first Priest King of Khemri. Under his inspired leadership and unparalleled ruthlessness, the many kings of Nehekhara were conquered and forced to pay tribute and acknowledge Khemri as the greatest city of the land. The tribes of the surrounding lands were conquered and the armies of Settra spread far and wide, enslaving all before them. His war fleets ravaged realms across the sea, bringing the terror of the Priest King to many distant lands. Settra was a vain and egotistical king, demanding tribute and adoration from all his subjects and, though he was a tyrannical ruler, Khemri entered an unprecedented golden age of prosperity under his rule.

Settra’s kingdom stretched across the land, but for all his conquests, he was unsatisfied, knowing that one day death would rob him of all he had accomplished. Where the ancient kings had been promised eternal life in a paradise where they would reign supreme, they instead awoke to find themselves clad in rotted vestments and desiccated flesh with their lands in ruins and kingdoms destroyed. The fires of pride and ambition still burned within their breasts and they set about reclaiming what remained of their kingdoms. Battles raged throughout Nehekhara until the great Pyramid of Khemri opened and Settra emerged into the blazing sunlight. Great was his fury at this disastrous reawakening and he set about reconquering his lost realm, overwhelming all those lesser kings who stood against him and forcing them to swear terrible oaths of fealty.

Having passed into the realm of death, Settra knew now that his priests had lied to him and kept much of their magic for themselves. His power was now far greater than theirs and he cast them from his lands, ordering his vassal kings to return to their tombs and await his call to arms. He would remain awake, king of a devastated land; ready to begin the reconquest of the empire that was once his. Immortality was now his, and the new races that had flourished in his absence would now feel his wrath."

It is Ariel who weaves enchantments around the Forest of Loren to delay and mislead intruders, or lure them onwards to their doom! If Ariel perishes in battle, the Elves will carry her away and seal her within the Oak of Ages to be reborn again in the spring.

When enemies enter the Forest of Loren, Ariel shifts shape into her sylph-like War Aspect. She grows almost twice the height of an ordinary Elf and unfolds huge wings like those of a gigantic moth, covered in tiny scales of shimmering, iridescent colours. Upon her wings are strange markings known as the Eyes of Isha, and the Spirals of Isha can also be seen in the patterns of her wings. Sometimes, Ariel's wings display the markings of the death's-head moth to indicate that she is enraged and in a vengeful mood. Moth-like antenna emerge from Ariel's head, but her face remains that of a beautiful she-Elf with piercing eyes. The upper part of her body is clad in shimmering scales of incandescent green, while the lower part trails away into infinity — like an ethereal or elemental being. She appears to glow with an inner light like the moon and trails raw magic in a shower of glittering stardust. In this form, Ariel can fly around the battlefield wielding her magic. The wafting of her huge wings over the heads of the enemy fills them with both dread and awe."

So I´ll just comment on some things:

@ Tue 2000: keep up digging out those wonderfull pics, the Warcry ones are just perfect!

@P.L.: thx for those background infos, I´m sure we could have found something ourselves, but we seem to be to busy right now doing other stuff for the mod. So keep them coming, pls (this kind of help is really much appreciated)
Even better if you can come up with names for the wonders (post #742), I´m especially interested in the name of the largest Bloodbowl Stadium.


@ Ploe, seZ and anybody who may be concerned:
I need a list of all buttons you´re still missing (may them be Units, buildings, whatever)

I fixed the problem with Bugmans Brewery only giving 1 premium beer resource (And this is strange Ploe, because after i reinstalled cIV my pedia says that hollywood gives 5 instead of your 6 movies ).
Bugmans now gives the intentioned 5 beers.
And I did new Icons + buttons for gems, that´s because I really hate those of the vanilla cIV.

I wanted to send you the new leaderheads + buttons i made Ploe, but I think I´ll wait until tomorrow and do the new ones that were posted here (you were right after all, I should have waited ) and see if I can give Ariel her mothwings back.
