Ok, I found some stuff for Aenarion

Aenarion the Defender (high Elves)

"Aenarion was a great hero of the High Elves (whose skills were unrivalled amongst other mortals), albeit a doomed one. Blessed by the Elven god Asuryan he rallied the elves in response to the invasion of Chaos, fighting a heroic but ultimately doomed defence of his home land; although the Elves won victory after victory following him, the forces of Chaos were infinite. After the death of his first wife Astarielle, the Everqueen, his mood became dark and aggressive. In his desperation to defend his people, Aenarion cursed himself and all of his descendants when he drew the Sword of Khaine (a weapon of terrible power) from its altar on the Blighted Isle.

His second wife, Morathi, was corrupted by the powers of Chaos, and bore him a twisted son, Malekith who became the first of the Dark Elves.

Seeing that the ongoing battles against the forces of Chaos could only end in defeat, Caledor Dragontamer called the greatest of the High Elf mages together. They devised a plan to create a vortex that would drain the magic, flooding in through the polar gate, from the world.

Choosing the Isle of the Dead as the site for the centre of the vortex, the mages assembled there and started their incantations. Sensing the scale of what was being attempted, the forces of Chaos started to converge on the island to halt the proceedings, and Aenarion was forced to assemble his armies to protect the mages.

Aenarion engaged the greatest of the Greater Daemons of Chaos during the battle, and although he was victorious both he and his dragon, Indraugnir, were mortally wounded. Ever faithful, Indraugnir flew the dying Aenarion north to the Blighted Isle so that he could drive the curséd sword back into the altar from whence it came. Aenarion then passed into legend.

The creation of the vortex had been successful - although it drained the excess magic from the world, weakening the forces of Chaos greatly, the mages that had enacted the spell were trapped within it for eternity.

His greatest living descendants among the High Elves are Tyrion and Teclis; the greatest living warrior and the greatest living Elven mage (who is even superior to Nagash at his height) who strive to overcome Malekith, ever bearing their ancestor's terrible curse."

Nagash the Black(vampire counts)

A young noble known as Nagash was born In Khemri although accounts of his life are contradictory (earlier writings imply he was a Noble and later Games Workshop describes him as a member of the liche-priests). However what is certain is that he emerged to rule Khemri. During this time he began the construction of the black pyramid as a 'magnet' for dark magic. He also began studies into an elixir of life using human blood, which would later on by perfected by the queen of Lahmia. Due to his dark nature combined with his tyrannical rule, the other kings, led by the king of Lahmia rose up against him and he was forced to flee his homeland. Lhamia eventually corrupted as well by vampirism, thus causing another series of wars culminating in the other kingdoms destroying Lahmia, causing the vampires to spread to all corners of the earth.

In time Nagash returned with vast armies of the dead he had perfected through his newly developed necromancy. Although he was initially defeated by the armies of Khemri, he then unleashed plague which decimated the people of the land and when the Great Necromancer attacked again he committed mass genocide with little resistance, obliterating all remaining life from the land.

Nagash's plan now reached its final stage, using the incredible amounts of power he had accumulated combined with mined warpstone and massive numbers of sacrificed Orcs he cast a mighty spell to muster all the dead in the world to his call, especially the now-dead Khemrians. With this army he planned to rule the world and transform it into an eternal kingdom were only he ruled. However, thankfully for all living creatures Nagash was assassinated by the last living Khemrian (King Alcadizaar, who Nagash had taken prisoner), with the help of the Skaven, who forged a mighty blade specifically to kill the Great necromancer. However, Nagash completed his ritual before his death, awakening all the dead of Khemri from their tombs."

NOTE: Do not mistake Nagash for being on Khemri's side. he is very much their arch enemy.

Vlad von Carstein The First Vampire Count (vampire counts)

"Vlad von Carstein was the first and greatest of the Vampire Counts of Sylvania. It was he who tainted the once human aristocracy of Sylvania with the curse of undeath and in so doing created an Undead kingdom at the very heart of the Empire. For years he gathered his strength until he felt confident enough to attempt the conquest of the whole Empire. Then Vlad fought a brilliant campaign against the warring Elector Counts and almost managed to claim total victory. He was halted at the very gates of Altdorf, the capital of the Empire.

Vlad was a towering figure of a man, with a mane of black hair and piercing eyes. Those who met him and survived the encounter describe him as having a feral charm and being extremely intelligent, but with an evil temper that could easily turn into berserk fury if he was thwarted in his endeavours. It was said that at such times only his wife Isabella could calm him without blood being spilt.

Vlad's wife, Isabella, was the daughter of the insane duke Otto von Drak. Vlad married Isabella and then inherited her father's estates when both Otto and his brother Leopold died soon after the marriage. Isabella was a quick-witted and darkly beautiful woman, and what started out as a marriage of convenience soon developed into unholy love. Vlad long resisted Isabella's requests to join him in undeath, but when she lay dying from a fatal wasting illness, Vlad realised that he could not carry on without her and reluctantly inducted her into the Undead.

Isabella was Vlad's most valued confidante, and the only person whose advice he trusted. When Vlad was killed by Grand Theogonist Wilhelm at the Siege of Altdorf, Isabella committed suicide rather than carry on through eternity without him…"

King Louen Leoncoeur (bretonnia)

"Since his coronation in 2500, Louen has proved himself time and time again. He utterly crushed the massive Orc invasion of 2508 at the Battle of Swamphold, and has ridden battlefields clear of the undead on the outskirts of Mousillon on more than one occasion. He has fought victoriously against invaders of the north, driving them back into the sea, and scoured the taint of insidious covens from within his cities. Leoncoeur has always attacked the enemies of Bretonnia with fiery wrath and determination, yet never have his actions been anything other than chivalrous and honourable. Although such rigid adherence to the codes of martial honour could be seen to hinder a more unscrupulous general, it is a great source of strength for King Louen. He is blessed above all other mortals by the Lady of the Lake, and some whisper he has even been granted a kiss by his goddess. It is certain that the magical power of the Grail flows in his veins; legend has it that where Leoncoeur is cut, light streams out from the wound until it is healed over once more.

After more than twenty glorious years on the throne, Louen still appears to be in the prime of his life, though scholars whisper that he is close to his ninetieth year. It is said that he intends to turn his attentions to cursed Mousillon, cleansing it of taint and restoring it to its former glory. If he does this, the lands of Bretonnia will be united under his banner once and for all."

Gilles le Breton(bretonnia)

With the disappearance of the Elves and Dwarfs, the land was quickly overrun by Orcs, Goblins and the rough Human tribes who were almost as brutal in those far off days. For many hundreds of years the area remained divided between rival warlords, both green-skinned and Human, until the time of Gilles of the tribe of Bretonni. In his day the realm was united, and as one nation the Bretonnians succeeded in defeating and driving out the Orcs and Goblins. It is from this time that the Bretonnians date the creation of their kingdom, some 977 years after the time of Sigmar and the founding of the Empire.

To this day the Knights of Bretonnia follow the chivalric traditions established in the time of Gilles le Breton. Gilles' vision of the Lady of the Lake on the eve of battle foretold of his holy purpose and ultimate destiny as king of Bretonnia. Since then the warriors of Bretonnia have pledged themselves to the service of the Lady of the Lake, and sought to uphold the knightly virtues in her name. By feat of arms a Knight may rise in esteem and become, by degrees, one of those marked by the goddess for her special honour. That reward is to drink, as Gilles le Breton once drank, from the Lady's Grail, as only those who are pure in heart and deed can do. "

Haargroth(Norsca)
(shouldnt be Norse leader, he is more chaotic, i have no idea who could be subsitute though, so he may have to do.)

You may want to check out this site if you want to find out more on the Norse (theres WAY too much to post on here) http://www.warhammerforever.com/onlinearticle.asp?articleID=62

Venerable Lord Kroak (lizardmen)

"In hidden crypts deep within the holds of the oldest temples lie the sacred mummified remains of deceased Slann. The spirit of a dead Mage-Priest often hovers near its dried body-husk, and magical energy pulses through the air around the corpse. It is unknown how much these Slann spirits are able to manipulate the corporeal world, though many prophets believe that their influence is substantial, if not always apparent.

Venerable Lord Kroak is the oldest and most revered of all these Relic-Priests. He is said to have been the first Slann that was spawned in the world, the most powerful of the First Spawning of Mage-Priests. An integral part of the Old Ones' Great Plan, his spirit stubbornly refused to leave this plane of existence when his body was slain. In the temple-city of Itza, plaques recording the history of the Slann relate that Lord Kroak was present at the birth of the world and therefore fated to be present at its end. Offerings and prayers are devoted to this venerable Slann, and all who look into his inlaid eyes can sense the power still residing there."

i could not find much on Big M., so here i goes:

Slann Mage-priest Mazdamundi (lizardemen)

"Residing within the pyramid city of Hexoatl, the great Slann Mage-Priest Mazdamundi has reacted to the threat of Morathi's invasion, and a great spawning has begun. A mighty force of Lizardmen has marched through the gates of Itza and across the River Amaxon. This army has navigated the Spine of Sotek at the Chasm of the Condor. Marauder ships are amassing at the western islands of the Lustrian coast, and cohorts of Saurus and Skink Warriors, led by a Mage-Priest of the city, have begun their implacable advance to stop the raids of the Northmen."

(for mor info on the Drucii-Slann war go to:http://stormofchaos.uk.games-workshop.com/warroom/subcampaigns/lustria.htm)

Emperor Karl Franz(reichland)

"The Emperor Karl Franz is said to be the greatest statesman in the Old World. He is acclaimed as a patron of arts and science, as a military innovator, and as a valiant warrior. Thanks to his efforts, the Empire has flourished during his reign. The Imperial Engineers' School has grown, the Colleges of Magic have thrived, and the army has marched from victory to victory. The Emperor takes personal command of his army whenever possible and has earned himself an impressive record of victories and conquest.

The Emperor wears a full suit of armour made for him by Dwarf smiths. It incorporates some of the actual armour worn by Magnus the Pious at the battle of Kislev and is richly gilded and splendidly adorned with plumes and silken ribbons. The Emperor wears an enchanted medallion, the Silver Seal, upon a chain around his neck. The Silver Seal wards away harmful blows and even countermands magic spells cast against the Emperor. It was made for Magnus the Pious by the Warrior Mage Fredrik von Tarnus after the Great War
against Chaos."

Grand Theogonist, Volkmar the Grim (reichland)

In the reign of Karl Franz the Grand Theogonist is Volkmar the Grim. Volkmar is now an old zealous preacher, utterly devoted to the destruction of Chaos, but just a few years ago he also was a mighty warrior, not afraid to face the peril of battle. When the Theogonist accompanied the Empire army into battle he rode on the War Altar of Sigmar, a huge chariot which carries the sacred altar surmounted by a huge statue of a griffon. The griffon statue was fashioned on the orders of Magnus the Pious after his accession, and is the emblem of his dynasty

Oh, and here's some more ideas for wonders: the 8 colleges of magic n Altdorf:
"There are eight colleges of magic, one for each of the ‘colours’ of the winds of magic: Amber (beasts), Amethyst (death), Bright (fire), Celestial (heavens), Gold (metal), Grey (shadow), Jade (life), and Light (light). The three most spectacular college buildings - the flame-topped towers of the Bright college, the lofty spires of the Celestial college and the mystic pyramid of the Light college – are magically concealed so that few residents of Altdorf are even aware of their presence. The Jade college, a thing formed from living trees, is hidden behind high stone walls. The Grey college is a run-down building located in the city’s poorest slums, and allegedly connects to many secret tunnels. The college of the Amethyst order overlooks the infamous haunted cemetery of Old Altdorf, the resting place of the plague victims, and few dare go near it. The Alchemists of the Gold college maintain a vast, smoke-billowing forge complex, and pollute the river Reik with their arcane chemicals. Only the Amber order has no college within the city, preferring instead the caves of the Amber Hills, away from the civilisation that is the antipathy of their magic."

Do you still need a map?

I have just found an A1 size map of the whole warhammer world (not just the old world). If you need it I'll scan it in and upload it here.
That's a good idea!
Do this and also pm Nightraven for it. He told me he's busy with another mod right now but didn't stop working on the WH-Map forever. By posting here maybe others like to make maps too. We don't want only one map don't we?

@P.L.
Great text again! Thx. Make sure Duke and Civmansam learn of the Magic colleges. They work on buildings xml. I like the idea.

Oh! i just noticed that your looking for army lists for alot of civs too, there's a heap of stuff at the official games workshop website, it has lists of every unit in each race and a brief description if you click on the pictures. it also has quite detailed descriptions of the races themselves. Chech it out, it might be a huge help, and a major info source (hint hint ;) )

http://oz.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/default.htm
just scroll down to the bottom and you will see a list of races on the left. its pretty simple after then.

(EDIT) spelling...

I found some nice info on the Eastern Relms at these sites:

http://www.freewebs.com/whfb_easternrealms/index.htm
and
http://easternrealms.proboards20.com/index.cgi
but cannot find much usefull stuff on Takagura, Wu, Jaffar, Akabar, Boris, Katarin or Jose'Paul.

However, i did find some info on other characters which might make good leaders, so here it is:

Asta Rathel (ind)

"By the year 680 (Imperial calendar), Indish society was similar to what we now know. Methods of warfare, notably the use of chariots and horse archers, had been honed nearly to perfection by the Indish warriors. Elephants had been domesticated and trained in the use of war, usually to defend Indish land against encroachments from their powerful northern neighbour, Cathay.

This was all to change with the arrival in Ind of one known as Asta Rathel. Travelling through Ind in search of enemies for his blade, he came to realise that the god the Indish worshipped as Sek was none other than his own god, Malal, the Renegade god of Chaos. Seeking allies in his war against the Khureshi, Rathel joined, and rapidly rose through the ranks of, the impromptu Indish army. Finally he seized control of the city and proclaimed the truth about his god. Though the people were at first sceptical, Rathel's ability to summon daemons of Malal spoke for the truth of his word. At a stroke, worship of Sek was replaced throughout Ind by Malal.

The followers of Karana in the west reacted to the emergence of a Chaos god as Ind's leading deity with horror. In a matter of months, the followers of Karana organised a huge witch hunt against those in the west who followed Sek or Malal. Whole villages and families were put to the sword, even those who had not heard about the new developments in the east. The Malalites responded in kind, slaughtering followers of Karana wholesale in the east. The yogis, practitioners of ancient arts and sorcery, were hunted down and killed, though many of them managed to escape westwards."

There followed a civil war in Ind the like of which has not been seen before or since. Huge armies clashed on the field of battle and fought to the last man; entire cities were razed to the ground and the inhabitants killed in the name of Malal or Karana. Eventually, however, the superior numbers and resources of the Malalites began to tell. After twenty years of continuous warfare, Asta Rathel led the Malalite armies against city after city, driving the Old Indish followers further and further back. Only the invasion of northern Ind by the hordes of the Hobgobla Khan prevented the followers of Karana from being completely exterminated.

Shaktidhar, the first Eshwar(ind)

"It was in these wars that the first Eshwar, or Avatar of Karana was seen. A particularly large Old Indish army had been surrounded and was sure to be overrun by the Malalites. However, their leader, one known as Shaktidhar became infused with the power of Karana and, the night before the battle, a curious change came upon him. His eyes began to glow with holy fire, he swelled to well over his normal size, and his skin turned blue. With the blessing of their god, the Old Indish were able to drive the Malalites back the following day. However, having accepted the spirit of Karana within him, Shaktidhar was unable to return to human form. He continued to lead his armies and rule his city for a further thirty years until he was finally slain in single combat with Asta Rathel himself."

Empress Tomoe (nippon)

"There currently exists a fragile confederation of Shoguns united under the Empress Tomoe, which functions as the government of Nippon. Empress Tomoe is a mysterious woman, attended upon by two thousand woman servants, and it is forbidden for men to look upon her. Even when she holds court, she is always hidden behind a screen. She resides in a huge sumptuous palace in the city of Miyato, the capital of Nippon hidden within her valleys. Miyato is a fabulous city of towering pagodas, stunning temples, and ornately created gardens of many acres. It is said that Empress Tomoe is gifted with a second sight, and that she can predict the future and foresee the approach of enemies. "

Prince Genji (nippon)

"Prince Genji was once an attendant of the court of Empress Tomoe. He was a fine and beautiful young man, an engaging conversationalist with sharp wit, and a fine artist and poet. All were entranced when Prince Genji chose to entertain the court in some way. He was also a superb warrior, as quick with his sword as he was with his tongue. Many ladies of the court dreamt of Prince Genji secretly coming to them during the night, while many men admired his talents as a soldier.

But some Shoguns were jealous of Prince Genji and thought him a scoundrel. They feared his popularity would sway favour towards his family from Empress Tomoe, for such is the complicated politics of courtiers. The most shocking tale of all was that the Empress herself was somewhat taken by the dashing Prince, and he had been seen leaving her private chambers in the dead of night.

Those Shoguns that had interest in controlling the next Emperor in line for succession held a secret meeting. They worried that the Empress would exercise her powers to name the next in line as being from another family - that of Prince Genshi. Prince Genji's own cousin led the Shoguns in plotting his downfall. They employed a band of ninja to enter his palace at night and poison him.

However, Prince Genji survived the attempt on his life. There was a brief fight, in which Genji's ageing parents and the ninja assassins were killed. Realising the strength of those plotting against him, Genji fled the city of Miyato, much to the distress of many courtiers, and some say Empress Tomoe herself shed a tear.

Now tales abound of his exploits across the country and abroad, for some say Prince Genji secretly serves Empress Tomoe, riding at the head of a specially selected army of her most loyal Samurai. They seek out and fight injustice at the hands of less than honourable Shoguns across Nippon, and take to the seas to recover treasures and slaves lost to raiders from lands afar"

I found a new Civ aswell, the Siam a humaniod monkey race: heres a discription, and possible leader could be Orangutan-Mage King Loui

SIAM

The dreaded jungles of Siam are a place feared by even the most brave of adventerous of men. Under the great boughs of the rainforest trees is said to lurk a great and anciet evil. The evil of Siam. The Siam are an ancient and misunderstood race. They are known by many as the eastern elders collectivly with the sea dwelling Naga. It is thought that these 'apes' and I use that term loosly are only humans which have failed to evolve with the passing of time. The Siam protect the great pyramids and temples of their once great and glorious past. Inside these golden tipped wonders are said to lie the key to the very existance of the world. The Siam worship many gods but the most prominent of these is Haptupa - the ten faced monkey god. Each of these faces are said to watch one of the temples dedicated to him and the great Orangutan whom is trying desperatly to discover the meaning of this face. Only one mage has discovered the secret of his face- the great orangutan mage King Loui, and his secret is the art of creating fire...

And another race (not sure about leaders...:

HOBGOBLIN HEGEMONY

"The Hobgoblins are a race of greenskins, with green-yellowish skin. They are almost as tall as Men are, equally strong, and have the same skill at arms. Unlike other greenskins they tend to be quite intelligent.
It is supposed, that they are some malicous crossbreed between the Humans of the Eastern Realms, and Goblins, created by the evil Chaos Dwarfs, to be better slaves. Generally it is almost sure, that the Hegemony was created by a few Hobgoblin tribes who escaped from the Chaos Dwarf Empire, during the great greenskin rebellion.
Currently there is an uneasy peace between the Hobgobla Khan and the Council of Sorcerers. Both races distrust each other, but the Hobgoblins trade slaves for weapons with the Chaos Dwarfs. Their situation is very similar to that of some Goblin tribes in the west, but with one difference: while the Goblins raid the Holy Empire of Sigamar, the Hobgoblins raid the Empire of the Celestial Dragon.
Each Hobgoblin tribe is led by a Khan, while those bigger by a Great Khan. All the Khans and Great Khans owe their allegiance to the Hegemon of all Hobgoblins, whose other title is Hobgobla Khan.
Wolfback fighting is what the Hobgoblins are born to, and their armies tend to be mobile. Those Hobgoblins who for some reason don't own a wolf are looked down upon by other Hobgoblins.
The Hobgoblin Warlocks own a great part of their knowledge of magic from the time of their enslavement to the Chaos Dwarfs. They often were the servants of the Chaos Dwarf Sorcerers, and were able to learn large parts of their sorcerous art. Still they are greenskin Shamans, able to commune with Gork and Mork. Unlike other greenskin Shamans they are able to tap the energy of the Winds of Magic, or at least some of them, and have actual (but very basic) knowledge about what are they doing"

Maybe you should clear your cookies?

Edit: Thx for the text again. I collect all your posts in a file. As soon I get the time they'll be in the pedia.

Nipponese diplomacy text, i think its pretty universal:
Declare War--"The Land of the Rising Sun has had enough, Prepare for war!"

First Contact--"Konichiwa, namayawa nun desca? Are you friend or foe?"

Refuse to Speak--"You have no honour, i refuse your envoy."

Peace--"We seek peace from this bloodshed...My honour as been disgraced..."

No Peace--"Iiya yasuragi! You will not see peace untill the Rising Sun has set!!"

Greetings Friendly--"Greetings friend, come, sit and have some Sencha, with me."

Greetings Furious--"What is this, You should not have come here. I hope you have a good excuse for this..."

Demand Tribute Weaker/Equal/Stronger
--" I am disgraced for asking but, could you aid us in times of need?"
--" You are an honourable friend, and i trust you hihgly, "
--" I will be careful not to send my ninjas...I-mean-envoys, yes envoys... to your palace if you accept."

Accept Offer--"Supashi-bo, maro gaibun ware, your generosity will be remembered."

Thanks--"Supashi-bo, thank you."
