Hey I am not paid for this you know !

I did not give any ETA because I want it to be well-tested, except if you prefer I upload it then have to patch it every other week until nobody understands it any more.

We will start the final testing in a PBEM next week. Consider 2-3 weeks to get the basic bugs and balance out if there is no major pb.

But it is not like it is just a project, it is actually playable now. It is just there still are a few bugs and balance is not perfect yet. And to play it you need to do a few manual updates which is not convenient.

After that it will rest on Steph's shoulders as the scenario uses some of the Cossack units he has not released yet. They fit perfectly otherwise and add a lot to the game.

Now you can go, bump his thread and ask him to release Generic Rider, Dutch Musketeer, Mounted Musketeer, generic cuirassier and generic 17c dragoon (I think that's all). That might speed up the release. It is there : http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50408

@ Aeon : mrtn is right. Without "capture" a tercio cannot be chosen as "offense" unit.
Now I thought I found the solution but I was wrong.
Still need to do some testing, especially capturing a treasure that is not kept by a tercio (I will do that in hotseat mod).

Some more bugs that need to be fixed :

- Maghrib leaderhead : mixed with Ottomans on some pictures
- Name bug while selecting the civ
- Muscovy company pedia is wrong and there are no furs.
- Galloglass : Irish cannot build them (so who else can !).

To ALL TESTERS : if you can, check as much as you can during the week-end :
- upgrade lines
- unit and improvement costs
- civilopedia
- tech-tree too short
- units/improvements that should be buildable but are not
- wonders whose effects are unclear or do not work...

How's this Loulong? Colors are easily changed. I might add a feather or two to the hat (civ-colored probably). The weapon is just a placeholder at the moment. Which would you prefer (if you could only have one) Zweihander, Pike, or Musket? And I will be adding a 'Katzbalger' since most of the images seem to have one.

Very nice work! What program do you use to model these and do you start from scratch or do you have some default models you adjust? I'm very impressed with the quality of custom units in general.. how long do they take to create?

I use 3DSMax to model my stuff... and Poser to do the animating. I do have a human figure that I model the clothes around although on this guy the hands and the head are the only things I reused, everything else was new. I did this model in a day and a half. Working out the kinks and setting it up for animating takes a little longer. Getting the right colors could take forever :D

Isn't it normally two food per person? It seems to be three food per person in this scenario.. My cities have a hard time growing and this sure would explain it, just checking if it's on purpose.

Also, the Scottish economy was suffering heavily through the war as I had to crank up happiness to 30% leaving me with a deficit even with science at 0%. Now that I made peace with the English I can move happiness down and start researching a bit. Clearly war weariness is a major issue in this game, at least under default government..

Ironduck- I guess Scotland is has agri as a civ trait.

Kinboat- Supreme work as usual.

Lou- I'm sorry but couldn't be home all week so haven't done anything. I DO look very much forward to play the final version:)

Yoda - yes, but notice it takes 3 food per person to maintain population rather than two.

Kinboat, I'd prefer more details and colours. The "shorts" should have 4 or 5 colours per leg, not just one. I know it might get dificult at civ level, but...
The dress I used on the larp I went to this summer had 6 (IIRC) different colours in it...

Add a katzbalger, but you don't need to "use it", IMO... :)
Personally I think a zweihänder would be coolest. :)

Did I forget to say it looks cool? Probably... ;)

@Lou: it still seems as if you haven't read my pm's...

Ahh now I see it, sorry. Thats because the food consumption/citizen is 3.

@ Ironduck : actually I believe you ar still using a former biq. Indeed I made citizens eat 3 foods per turn to slow the city size increase. But then I had to give so much bonus to bonus luxuries (especially in Flanders) that it became ridiculouly easy for some cities to grow. So in the latest biq I reverted back to 2 food per citizen and it seems to work OK.

@ mrtn : Hmmm yep, will get online.

@ Kinboat : thanks for taking care of it so quickly.
Feathers on the hat : yes please.
Weapon : Zweihänder (but since they have defensive fire, a alternative musket attack would be most welcome (sorry !).
Colors : yep I feel something is wrong there but cannot figure out what. I would trust mrtn's opinion on that.
Katzbalger : is it the kind of large short trousers ? Then definitely yes.
An idea. Could it be possible to have legs cloth of different colors each as in many pictures ?
In the large pictures, he looks like he has no head (especially SE direction). Is that normal ? I really trust you on that !

This is weird, I just downloaded and installed 0.97 when it was released, how can it be an older version playing? I'm playing a game that has carried over a couple of patches, but shouldn't the settings change when patched?

Ironduck: No, you have to start a new game.
Lou; the Katzbalger is a short sword. Without point, if you would believe it. :crazyeye:
Seems pointless. ;)

Here he is with the Zweihander... I'm thinking the feathers would be the only civ-color, while the stripes on the sleeves would be blue all the time.

I'm not sure about adding lots of color to the legs, I'll try some things out but simpler often works better at civ-scale, and he'll already be one of the most colorful units I've seen. (and I'm actually quite pleased with the way this color-scheme works out.)

The head problem is the result of his large hat and the 30 degree viewing angle. You can't see his head in most of the directions.

I'm surprised about how picky people are concerning that unit considering how weird many of the resources look on the map ;)

I think it's classy.
