All major religons have a symbol to call their own and although atheism is not tecnicallly a "religon," it is a "belief system," that I think it is in need of a symbol too. So post up some symbols for atheism!

To people who say atheism is not a belief system I Quote King Flevence:
Believing truth is self-evident to mankind (even though no one can prove that it is) is a belief system.

Note: Remeber, no more than two posts in a row without a picture.

Atheisim is neither a religon nor a belief system. Atheisim needs no symbols, ideologies, or dogmas. If atheisim gets that than it is no longer atheisim but a cult.

False. Believing truth is self-evident to mankind (even though no one can prove that it is) is a belief system.

The same symbol we use for zero obviously.

No we don't.

Getting a symbol is the first step in becoming yet another looney cult. :ack:

Thats not an atheist belief. Just a belief. There is no such thing as atheist belief, except the atheisim itself which isn't actually a belief in the first place, merely a fact.

Are you trying to say all atheists believe truth is self evident to makind?

Funny how every religion needs an idol.

Atheisim is not a religon.

Atheisim is not a religon.

Atheism may not be a religion per se, but I would say that believing that there is no god is just as much of a belief as believing there is one. :crazyeye:

That is pretty good. It can stand for zero tolerance for religion.

yes indeed it could. All the best symbols can be interpreted in different ways to suit the agenda and prejudices of the interpreter. It can also mean 'the belief in nothing' , or 'nothing believed' , 'non-existance' whatever you like.

I don't think so. Atheists don't believe there is no God. They just don't have a proof of his existence, so they don't accept the idea of God.

It is the same as belief in UFO or Yeti - I don't have any real evidence, so I don't believe in it.

Believers, on the other hand, accept the existence of something, that hasn't been proven. That is the act of faith that separates them from atheists.
