Wedding invitation

Wow, an all expense paid trip to a wedding in Finland... I am really tempted to go! Can you put me on the "I'm not sure but leaning towards it" list?

I'm with Winner here.

Sure thing blackheart, still plenty of room.
De Lorimier - excellent!

@Bird - We're hoping Thunderfall would be giving the bride away, but he hasn't confirmed yet.
And no, not Chilren of Bodom, but Värttinä.
They've just made the music for the stage adaptaion of Lord of the Rings in Toronto and they are an absolutely great band. Very quirky modern version of Finnish ancient folk music.

Oh, and @ Winner, not the lottery, but inheritance :)

But he is quite a bit younger than you. :mischief:

Oh, I know that, but he's the father of the forum that brought us together, so we thought it would be fitting.
I tell you what, if he can't make it...would you do it?
You've got to make a speech at the reception at least!

I have a friend who moved to Finland (has a family there now).

What is it about the land of the Vikings that makes it so popular? (ok, so Finland isn't exactly Viking... but close enough)

My reasons to like Finland are :
1) The beautiful nature (lots of forests and lakes)
2) Nice and friendly people
3) I feel much safer here when I'm on the street then I felt in The Netherlands
4) The society seems less stressed than what I was used to in The Netherlands
5) and of course the most important reason : My love and future wife lives here.

I do believe that I could manage both. :)

If it's not an APRIL FOOL, then I would certainly love to come. But I don't know if I can. My age.... I'm 14.
Anyway if you have more invitations with everything paid, remember I love travelling!

Conclusion: if it's true and possible count me in. But I feel strange about this, I can't very easy believe such thing.

Edit: BTW, you know this isn't my actual location. You know about the avatar switch.

To plan properly, I would like to know the appropriate attire. Will this be a casual affair? Should I polish up my patent leathers or will birkenstocks work equally well?

Warmest congratulations to both of you! I've been hoping for this news ever since you first told us the wonderful story of how you got together. It's heartwarming to see love rewarded.

As for your invitation,

Wow. I still don't really believe this, but I'd hate to miss the chance in order to avoid looking foolish. Sign me up please. :)
What he said.

If this is not an April Fools' joke, then I can only wonder at your incredible generosity, and I would be thrilled to come for the weekend. If it is, I guess we'll all have a good chuckle about this tomorrow.

Anyhow, regardless, you have my best wishes.

My dear friends.
I sincerely wish this were true, but as many of you suspected it was an April Fool's joke. It would be lovely to have so much money as to invite you all for a big party, but alas, we don't have that sort of wealth.
Guess I should start paying the prole tax ie playing the lottery.

Warm thank you for everybody who took part in this little bit of fun and wishing you a fun rest of the April Fool's day, mine has just ended. :)

edit: no, we're not getting married, the whole thing was a joke :)

Oh yes we are.
Not being religious, we don't feel any need to get married though.
We're fine as we are, no need to be sad.

You mean the wedding's done?
It is just a tale that you have spun?
Alas, Mathilda ... I am undone.
