Welcome New Members

Hola, I am new to the forums, as of today. I played the original Civ endlessly when I was a young lad and also played Civ II, but to a lesser extent. I found that as I had less time for gaming, that I had less time for a game like Civ. I also have the likely unpopular opinion that by III and IV rolled around that they were just adding stuff in to the game out of a sense of obligation and not really adding much to core gameplay. Civilization: Revolution brought me back in. It is nowhere near as complex as the recent PC offerings, but fits right in with the amount of time that I have available to dedicate to gaming. My forum name is also my Xbox Live gamertag, so if anyone wants to shoot me out a message or game invite, feel free!

Hi,
Well thought it was about time I actually registered as I have been reading up on strategies on the forums for a while (VirusMonster's 500k strat and Kesshi's religious eco strat (hope i got ur names right) are brill btw, got my score from a pathetic 10k too 130k so thnxs). So... yeah thats well bout it...
:D

Yo. Sadly I only registered here to try to find answers to why Civ IV won't run, for long, on my system (although I've used this place to find mods ever since Civ III). But other than that I've played all the Civs starting from Civ I & Colonization (on Amiga), then switching to PC and Civ II, Alpha Centauri, Civ III, and now Civ IV BTS (or trying to if it wasn't so incompatible).

Hey everyone. I've been playing Civ IV for about a month now, which is the only one of the series I've ever played. I found these forums a few days ago and have found some good information. Now I'm off to see if I can find some more.:)

Hi. I'll be surprised if anybody fights through this many pages to see some noob announce his presence, but here I am!

Been playing since Civ 1, my dad turned me on to it. Love civ 3, but don't think I'll be buying 4 any time soon. I also play a lot of warcraft.

I'm a big heavy metal fan. It is fact that the planet is heavier because SLAYER exists on it.

Salutations! I've been coming here for some time and finally decided to just join the forum. Mostly, I'm here to find modders with spare time and graphics abilities; I could mod CIV II well enough with paint and Photostyler, but 3D meshes and such are just beyond me.

Welcome all! :D

(I doubt anyone will fight through all these pages, but many of us keep this thread bookmarked, so we can check every day or so. ;) )

Hiyaaa! Been a big civ fan for ages, just signed up to the forum. p.s. loving the 1000 signs you've played civ too long thread xD

Hello, I am an author and an artist and I became aware of this site through Renderosity.com I am happily looking around.

I've been reading CivFanatics for a long time but don't post. So when I finally noticed a message telling me to post something I decided to do so.

Hello community, thanks for all the great info. I first played Civ on a 8 Mhz (12 Mhz in "turbo" mode) machine and it was installed from 5.25" floppies. I still have the game, manual, keyboard overlay, and all, in my closet. :D

Hi everyone. I just bought Civilization 3 Complete. Currently, I don't think my laptop can handle Civ 4. My laptop specs is a Core 2 1.7Ghz, 2 GB of RAM and integrated i945GM graphics. The lack of T&L support is a concern here.

My question is can my laptop handle Civ 4 smoothly at low settings? Planning to buy a new PC soon!

I play on a 2.4Ghz core2 laptop with intel i945 gfx, and 1920x1200 resolution. It plays fine until about the industrial eara, and then slows down a little when scrolling around and the AIs turn, but nothing that makes it hard to play. And that's with all the detail high and animations on. I guess if you turn the detail and animations down you won't have any problems.

I was looking for mods to Civ IV and found this, I love to play airsoft and paintball, I'm also a gamer and really like RTS games.

hi, massive fan of all the civ games but never thought of looking for a forum until now
i chose my username for the simple reason that germany invented the panzer the first practical and effective tank, my sig is a great philosiphy imparted to me online on civ rev one turn after boston had fallen to the might of my armies and one turn before berlin was smashed by said wepon. you will get to know me hopefully for my sense of humor and witty remarks not my appaling capacity for grammatical errors and typos. i am litteraly grammer police baite
