Welcome New Members

Hello everybody,

I've been playing Civ series for 8 years. I've tried civ 2 MGE, civ2 ToT, civ 3 & civ 4 and I like the most good old Civ 2. After short experimenting with civ 3 & 4 I have often come back to this "evergreen game". I prefer raw, chesslike strategy rather than animations and sofisticated combats.
I' ve played many of scenarios available here for download and among my favourites was EIWIND's work dedicated to WW2. Also must mention Curt Sibling, Tecumseh, Jensen, John Ellis, Jamestout...
Finally, these days I've decided to create my own historical scenarios for civ2 Test of time and I'll upload some of them on Civfanatics soon.
:)

Hey guys! New to this forum and Civ games in general. I bought the Civ 5/G&K strategy bundle off Amazon and have been nothing but addicted to this game for the past few days. I'm reaching the end of my first game (which I've made a mess off lol), but I'm hoping to achieve a scientific victory and then follow it up with a second game where I will apply some of the lessons I've learned so far.

Looking forward to discussing strategies with people here!

Fresh meat!
Welcome to the forums, you CivFanatics noobs!

Hello! :) - I am new to this forum, and was hoping someone could re with a link or thread in this forum- I'm playing Civ 4, and I would say I'm a mediocre player. I can win on the prince level, but just barely! BUT- I have never learned how to mess with hiring specialists & I realize this must be why my success is limited. I googled "hiring specialists in Civ 4" and that's how I found you guys. I skimmed a post about a specialist economy, ( "An advanced guide to the Specialist Economy for Emperor and above") but it assumed a lot of knowledge that I don't have. I was hoping to find more of a beginners guide, if you will? Any help would be great, thanks!!!

Hello, I am Trout Wielder, wielder of Trout! I am a complete newbie to Civ 5 and never really got the hang of Civ 4. You can therefore consider yourselves warned in advance to never pay attention to any strategies I suggest; they will likely get you killed and your cities razed by hairy barbarians with big clubs and horrible table manners.

Hello everyone! SehWho here, my experience with Civ is mostly CivIII. I bought Civ5 on release and wasn't a big fan, but I recently bought G&K and all the DLC. I also picked up Civ4, but I haven't jumped into it too much yet. I mostly play on Warlord because I'm a noob.

As for other games, I'm really into Starcraft 2 and Counter-Strike.

Hello,

Name's Ian, go by the handles DemoJan777 & Demosthenes777 on forums on the interwebz. Looking for a rather famous fantasy mod for Civ 4 brought me here, thought I would say hi. Looking for "Fall from Heaven", I think...

I've played every iteration of this game except Civ 5 because my crappy laptop made in 2005 can't run it. I remember hacking the .BAT file from the game intro on my friend's computer in high school changing the text to all dirty jokes about Genesis and my friend's mom.

Alright, prolly TMI but there ya go.

Have fun!

Hei! AAsaTroende here or Erik if you like.

Been stalking these forums for a while, seems like a very good place to find knowledge about the games and history alike.

Brought both the Civ IV Complete edition and Ci V GOTY + Gods and Kings, started playing about a week ago on my aging laptop. Swap playing between the two and sometimes Civ Revolution on the 360 for some fast paced goodiness. Enjoying the series so far. Like studing history on my own, weird I havent picked up on the series before now, since they got juicy pedias in-game.

Looking forward to type on here. Long since I've been a forumer now, about time!

I've been reading the forums for about a month, signed up about a week ago.

I played Civ III for a very short period of time. Didn't give the learning curve enough time but liked the game.

Bought Civ V in March of 2012, added G&K with Steam sale around thanksgiving, and added the last of the DLC I needed at Christmas Steam sales. Played Civ V about 100 hours and still feel like a noob.

curious what civ V leader personalities typically are. I've been surprised by Gandhi and his back stabbing behavior.
