Welcome New Members

Woops, this isn't exactly my first post, but wanted to say hello.
I'm not an expert, but I've played to Civ 2 and 3 and I really loved them!
I'm also here to know if 4 or 5 are worth buying!

Hi! :)

Hello Everybody:)
Thanks for registering me. I think I'll find here much helpful information about Civilization.

Kind Regards

Hi, I'm new on here athough I've been a CIV fan for a long time. I've downloaded a few mods before for CIV IV and how now got CIV V which I've downloaded some more mods as the basic game is more than a little frustrating with the exception of the range attack and non stacking units. Too much has gone missing from the original game. Can someone please tell me what I do with the mod files with no extensions???

I suppose I'll take the forum's auto-generated suggestion and make my first post here. I started with Civ III and have been playing Civ IV a lot recently. I joined this forum because I'm sick of Vanilla and want to mod it up.

No extensions? Is this for Civ V? Did you download the MOD from the game directly or from this website?

Hello, Civfanatics!

I'm here to remind everybody to

I have been visiting this site for over four years now, and I have finally decided to make an account. I will come up with suggestions for mods and do whatever I can to make your time talking to me as enjoyable as possible.

If you want to talk to me on Skype, just tell me and I'll add your Skype name.

Hello everybody,
so happy to have found such a site full of useful information! I started with the DOS version of CIV1 and turned to the WIN version later which is still my favourite.

I know this is CIV forum but I count on you all to be as excited about your games as I am. I am traveling to Africa for 2 weeks and I want to get a hand-held game like the DS or PS portable. I want to get games like Civ and a really good RPG styled game. Any suggestions??

Hi everyone. I've joined CivFanatics so I could download some tweaks and join the community of fellow players. I am a lifelong history fanatic and began playing board war games long before they existed on computers. But now I play war and simulation games on computers quite often. I discovered Civilization with Civilization IV and now own Civilization V- quite happy with both. Each is different, neither superior for me, both super-fun to play. And super addictive, causing me many many day-long, night-long marathons. I often find myself muttering the Civilization addict's oath "I'll just play one more turn" again and again and again...

I started playing FreeCiv when I was a kid with my family. I stopped a few years ago because I just didn't have time. Now I do. I was visiting my sister and her husband a few weeks ago and he showed me Civ V. Wow. When I got home I went straight to the store. I only have a netbook, so I decided to buy a used copy of Civ IV. Een on the lowest .ini settings, it stutters along at 2-4 FPS on big games and full maps. XP I don't mind so much since it's a turn-based game. ;)

Well anyways, hi! I'll be on this forum from time-to-time, asking tons of questions and helping Others players whenever I can. :)

Hi everybody!

I am a CIV player since 1995 and a real big fan!
I have now CIV 5 and has somebody a suggestion what i can download for extra mods or civs?

greetings

Hellos Civers !

Just picked up my first CIV game and I am already addicted...;)

I don't know why I felt I would never have the time to (I have played mostly RPS/FPS games) in the last 20+ years. Last time I played a Turn-based-strategy game, it was Panzer General (DOS)...

Anyway, I see now why it is so attractive to so many!

Glad to be there !

Hey all,

I'm a Computer Science student in London and an avid Civ fan. Just managed to get Civ 5 running on my Mac by using Boot Camp (wasn't willing to play the out of date Aspyr build as my friends are on PCs). I usually play huge/epic or marathon and have had a few crashes.

I'm currently blocking Steam from my Internet connection to keep myself on 1.0.1.135 as we have a multiplayer marathon going (I live with two other Civ players) on LAN and I'm not sure if 1.0.1.167 is backwards compatible.

I have previously played competitive games at top level including Starcraft and Heroes of Newerth, so I do tend to get very into games and very competitive in the games I'm into. Hoping to play Civ V online as soon as I can unblock Steam.
