Welcome New Members

Hey bros!

Civ 5 is the first civ game I've ever played and I'm about 160 hours into it. I'm currently attempting immortal and not doing so hot haha so I'm here to learn and to hopefully get better at an awesome game

160 hours and on Immortal? I'm at nearly 400 and I've not beaten Emperor yet.

Welcome to everyone else as well!

Hello all! Just wanted to post a brief greeting to all after joining the forum. Been a Civ fan for years. Started with Civ II on the old Playstation. Became a true PC gamer after Civ III. Now playing Civ IV with the C2C mod and loving every turn of it!

I thought I am the only CIV fanatic, since I played it since CIV 3. There are even more fanatic than me. :p:lol:

I am new to Civ V and Civ Fans and registered yesterday.
My problem is that I can't have access to the Basic Guide to Peaceful Victory Article.
The reply I get is that I am not authorized to do so.
What is wrong and what can be done to solve the matter ?
Thanks for your reply.

Are you referring to the link to the Basic Guide to a Peaceful Culture Victory in the India War Academy article? If so, I'm sorry to say that guide was never finalized for release, so the link is inactive. (Those links in the India War Academy article should have been deleted before the article went "live"; they've now been deleted.)

I'm happy to give you links to some useful culture victory discussion threads, but first need to find out which version of Civilization V you are playing -- vanilla/original CiV or Gods & Kings or Brave New World.

Thanks, and welcome to CivFanatics!

Greetings, everyone. I've been playing Civ since III Gold, and have recently been playing Civ V BNW quite a bit. I'm sure just about everyone here has better strategies than I do, but I'm hoping to learn a bit and improve by reading the threads posted here.

Nice to meet you all. ^_^

Hello. Been playing Civ since this summer and love it. I used to play one of the older versions in the middle of the 90´s but cant remember what version, guess it was Civ 2.

Hey guys!

I'm new here and joined because I have been experiencing some issues with Mods. I have Brave New World from the AppStore (Gotta love Mac). After following all the tutorials the mods option shows up in game. But, the folder in which I should be able to place mods does not exist! I went looking for it everywhere, but nothing!!:nuke: Please Help!!!

Thanks,
Randy

I`ve started up Civilization again, played civ 4 a while back but decided to give civ 5 a try, have Gods and Kings but no BNW yet.
Only actually finished one game so far since I'm still in high school (aint no one got time for this), Prince with Vikings. It was quite fun, since I was just experimenting, got Holy Warriors so I could pull out units whenever i needed them, also wiped out Montezuma for fun. I have another game as Arabia on King which is pretty much won, so I nuked Ethiopia and the Iroquois for no good reason. Science is really broken, submarine vs privateer is a joke hehe. Just coming here to share some fun times or whatnot, playing a game as Spain right now. Great Barrier Reef + one with nature is the only thing keeping me alive :crazyeye:

Hello all.

I have to admit, I have committed what is likely to be(come) the cardinal sin; joining a "Civ Fanatics" forum having never played a Civilization game.

Don't get me wrong; I love computer games, I love board games, I love RTSes & Turn-Based Strategy's. I've played the likes of Risk and Warcraft/Starcraft for years now.

Just not Civ.

So, my gross personal errors aside, I am curious:

I am looking for an artist (specifically a modeler, creator of 3D resources such as models) by an unknown pseudonym. All I know about this fine gentleman is that he once modded Warcraft 3 extensively under the name "Mc!".

Any help?

Hello everyone!

Just wanna make my introduction here, so I'm a brand new player... bought CIV V + DLCS and BNW last friday (steam super discount!) and is my very first game of the franchise... I MUST say that I'm a complete idiot 'cuz didn't start to play it before! This game is so amazing and addictive! Such a shame that I'm an adult and have adults issues, like work... I wanna play it all time! ALL THE TIME!

HERETIC! NONBELIEVER! Throw him off of the website!:old:

And hello forum, how are the games going? I'm new here too.

Hi!

My name's is Antonio, I am 28 and I'm an IT Manager in Brescia (Italy).
I have been playing Civ games since Civ 4. Currently I'm playing Civ 5 GnK. I read this forum for a while and now I'm happy to join to this community!

hello,

i've been reading here for some time now, i started out with Civ 5 aswell, bought it and all expansions and really like the game.

I play on emporer atm and look to increase the difficulty level, tough i have not yet played all the civs :)

Hi all,

I'm ashamed to say i've been "visiting" CF for a good few years, just never really signed up until now. Reading through peoples ideas, and trying some of the saves are highly interesting. I recently used some of the achievement saves from Feiling's thread. I primarily signed up to contribute towards that thread with some of the broken saves, but will also be interested in playing some MP.

I've played civ since 2, i don't play on the higher levels unless i'm looking for some immersion, i rather enjoy the "casuality" of the mid tier difficulties since i don't have as much time to play nowadays :(

Hi All!

I picked up BNW about 3 months ago & pretty much simultaneously started lurking around these boards picking up tips/strategies. Big thanks to everyone involved! :)

I'm just about comfortable on Emperor & currently love playing as the Celts, using a ICS-Sacred Sites approach.

Hi, I'm Tyler. I'm an 18 year old college freshman. I picked up Civ 5 for free form the Golden Joysticks Steam free-game-with-vote promotion and am loving it. I played six hours straight two days in a row as Japan, conquered essentially the entire world and got curious about a science victory so I went for that. Now that I've gotten a feel for the mechanics of the game, I want to work on getting to understand key concepts and basic tactics/strategy better so that I don't form bad habits and can continue to improve. Right now, I'm following the general concepts outlined in the India guide in the War Academy to do a 3-4 vertical city PCV but I feel as if I might be in over my head with that one (I've always been bad at RTS). Any tips or pushes in the right direction for how to find a big old basics guide/improvement guide would be great!
