Hi, been a fan since Civ II. Recently got Civ IV. Like it for the most part, but I can't stand the new combat system. Not fond of seeing tanks so easily beaten around by infantry in stacks. It's just me though, and I prefer RTS games, but there hasn't been anything good in that arena in almost two years now.

Looking forward to learning to Mod Civ IV though. I kind of want to do a naval warfare version, with various types of vessels.

Hi to everybody, also a long time civ player 1st time caller (memories of 48hr civ marathons on a 286 with equally sad flatmates), loved civ2 (unholy fascination with the dinosaur mod from fantastic worlds), smac was so good that civ3 never really grabbed me (RL possibly being an issue as well), but having played a few games of civ4 I'm hooked again...

Well, I'm kingkrispy, just got Civ III for Xmas(four isn't out on mavs ) and it kicks massive ass. I like wrestling, Warhammer 40k, and World of Warcraft as well as Civ III.

Hey everyone. I mentioned this in another post but I was a big Civ I player for a very long time. I picked up Civ II about a year ago as I didn't have a computer capable of Civ III. I got a very nice computer for Christmas and this was the first, and only game, I picked up for it.

The changes from Civ II to Civ IV have been overwhelming and yet great. I'm currently winning about 75% of my Warlord games. I've been playing mostly Small maps of either Terra or Pangea type. I play Normal, Epic, and Marathon depending on my mood when I start. After this game I'll probably go to Terra Standard maps. I am really looking forward to stepping up in difficult to Noble.

Greetings fellow civilization-freaks!
Me and Sid Meier's Civilization go way back, my first encounter with the series was sometime back in the last century when I downloaded the demoversion of Civilization II to my old Macintosh Performa 6200. Over the years I have turned to the dark side (Microsoft's products, that is) but I have never lost my fascination for the Civilization games. Not thinking that Civilization III really measures up to its predecessor, I was not sure what to expect from Civilization 4. All the greater was my joy when I found it to be the best game of the series so far, by leaps and bounds. The only drawbacks are the insipidly long loading times and the heavily lagging gameplay on my computer. I have version 1.52 installed and that helped slightly. Maybe someone in this forum has any tips as to how I can improve the performance?
I have already turned the graphics to the lowest level.
Any assistance would be sincerely appreciated.

I am new to Civ and enjoy the experience however, can not win and need some clues. The google search lead me to this site so I am looking forward to increase my experience with CIV and hopefully get off the bottom of the rack and enjoy some winning experience

Hello everyone.
It's the first Civ game I play, Civilization 4, and it's ...unbelievable. The first time I played C4 (after the tutorial), it held me in front of the PC for 16 hours!!! It's been a long time since I've been so cought up by a computer game.
For now, I'm just playing settler difficulty, by I will surely read a lot on the subject, and hope to play stronger levels soon.

Hi, I've been hangin on this site for quite a long time but had never posted. I was like shopping in Santa's supermarket ! Greatest download site !
I've been into civ3 since vanilla and it's really "My Game" ; I love the "toony" look, the easy modding possibilities, the evolutions into PTW and C3C, and don't want to move to 3D ! To hell with 3D !!! 2D is beautiful, and with such artists...

Hi, been into Civ since CivII. I remember entire weekends spent playing marathon games (can you say "GEEK"). But I'm not ashamed of my geekdom. Liked some, but not all of the later versions. Civ IV has me hooked.

Hi all. I'm relatively new to civ until recently when i saw (and played) Civ 4 at my friend's house, and I plan to buy my own one in like say...an hour from now?
As for previous civ experience, I have none, but I look forward to Civ 4. I have been playing online games for most of the time but I'm bored of all of them...
