Whassup people?
Greetings from Macedonia, prepare to be conquered :p

Like other people already posted, I am also a Civ fan from the humble starts years ago, switching to other games from time to time, but Civilization is unbeatable, and I always return to it...
Looking forward to Civilization Colonization, and registered to this forum as I want some insight of whether the game is worth bying, or I should just stick with beyond the sword...
Previews look cool and all, but it is the community opinion that matters...
The voice of the people must be heard :king:

Cheers

@lord drake: Civ4 is the closest PC version to CivRev. It is, of course, much deeper, and more complex.

Of course Civ4 will take a much more powerful computer than it sounds like you have. (Anything marketed as a "game computer", or other medium-to-high-end system from the last couple of years should be able to handle it, though.)

Hi everyone, just joined a few days ago after I pulled civ3 complete out and dusted it off and realized I still suck. Used to play civ1 on an old 386 and was a regular civ2 player for years. actually own civ4 but haven't even tried it out yet.

sounds like CIV 3 is going to have to be it cause my computer is not a gaming one and it's about 5-6 years old.:badcomp:

Hello All,

Just joined today. I've been reading the site for some months now and spending more time playing Civ IV than I should. :)

I've been playing the current GOTM since last Wednesday. I don't think this is a spoiler: it's now the 20th century and a race to get Domination victory before another Civ launches their spacecraft. I'm pretty far behind in tech. I tend to start a lot more games than I finish - this is giving me some more experence in the end game.

Might be interested in the next SGOTM. Unless I'm spending all my time playing colonization.

Thanks for all the great tips.

Hello,

New to this forum but not Civ IV...I purchased this back in March of 2006 (never played any other version of Civilization before) and couldn't put it down for 6 months. I found a link to this site and out of curiosity checked it out...seems to have sparked interest in re-installing it to play again.....:)

Hello world ...

A year or so back I used to read this forum a lot, but today's my first time back in ages. In my first trawl I think I detect an unwelcome change, in that I've seen some rather bad-tempered comments. You never used get that (K-Mad where are you?). Anyway, it's bothering me enough to register and make this post. It's only a game for goodness sake (check my name!) and nobody's forcing you to read or respond to comments/questions you don't like. Maybe these people are stressed out right now because they work in the finance sector?!! (There should be a smiley here but I don't know how to do them!)

Well Hello everyone. been playing and frequenting this site for a while, so I decided to join and show some support! I have played civ I on the snes, then jumped straight on civ IV, and i'm pretty much hooked. Nice meeting you all, gotta start asking stuff on the threads!

Hello people, I've been playing the game since Civ II, from there I decided to get the IV, which I still play (Beyond the Sword).
I'm 27, married, have a son born last year, and been living in Louisiana for a while. My passion is history, archeology and any ancient stuff that's been excavated.

this is my first ever post. i have civ3, and then bought civ4, but my computer is too old for it.:badcomp:

ps: im a guy, and im not gay, despite the name.

Hi!

I have been playing for a few years but before I didn’t have the Internet, so…

This looks like a great site, glad to be coming onboard. I still don’t play that well, but I do enjoy it anyway!

Greetings!

I've been an on and off lurker here for some time now, although in the last year or so I've taken an extended break from Civ for WoW. The release of the new Colonization has brought me back, and after browsing these forums again, I had to break my silence to commend you all on the helpful, knowledgeable and most of all civilized community you have built here. It's refreshing to read and I'm glad to be back as a part of it.

Hearty regards to you all and may your pc's never lag!
