Welcome New Members

Geriatric Game player, still playing Civ 1. Never have won on Emperor level, but keep trying now and again.

55 years young, two kids 11 and 13 (I started late ;) )
Looking forwards to picking up a lot of pointers in this forum. I might even finally buy a newer version of Civ.

Hello all,

I have been playing Civ3 for quite a while when I first discovered this site. It was actually SirPleb's Going for Sid http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=81424 story, his genial FunnelOfDoom and his sharp sense of honour that made me decide to join. Hopefully, some day I will have a story to share too. Until then, I will continue to learn from the discoveries and techniques of my predecessors.

Dear fanatics:
I am interested in creating a Civ IV mod that would be a useful complement to Jared Diamond's Collapse, to allow students in my undergraduate classes to manage a civilization with all of the environmental consequences he outlines. Does anyone know of a mod that includes losing resources, erosion, global warming and other features that could be modified by an instructor for use by students.

Hey, First post 1000th visit XD.
I know I play on settler but, that's going to change soon as now I can micromanage.
I saw civ 1 at a friends house, borrowed civ 2 from another, and bought civ 4 and BTS.
I now play BTS only.
My Xfire is in the signature hopefully.
I love the music for Brennus and think that he is the best leader in civ 4, as his traits allow quick adaptation to near any situation.

Hi everyone. New to the site. Been playing Civ 4 for a while now and its a great game. Been working with modding and learning the ropes. Thanks to all the modders out there and your great efforts. Just finished up the Song of the Moon mod. Awesome. Did anyone not get Tungsten, Titanium, Plutonium,or Uranium?

Well Crikey, Mates! There was I looking for a rootkit cause I just got slammed by mybestanti-virus2010 and I'll be wankered if I dint find you blokes, but if i don't get entombed by the blue screen of death or blacked -out I'll just say it like that yankee Guv'nah in Cali,"I'll be back."

P.S. I don't know where that Aussie guy came from since I was born in Van Nuys. California but it was fun doing it and I guess that's all the justification I need. G'Day Mates , be sure to tucker up on the barbie with a Frosty this summer, hey!

Welcome to the forums!:D
I wish i could join in in a civ IV match, but sadly all i have is civ II.:(

Quick introduction, relatively new to Civ, bought my first copy of it in summer '08, vanilla Civ4.

Still at the stage where I'm getting my a$$ handed to me for various reasons, due to the insane amount of depth and strategy paths you can go down. Been reading bits and pieces throughout the forums, be it from the War Academy or elsewhere. Some great contributions to this site, thanks to anyone who's put the time and effort in.

Sure I'll correspond with some of you in the other threads and forums.

Peace.

Hi Gents, got the CIV IV Complete 2 weeks ago. About me? 37, civil engineer, German, living in the NL.
Atm trying desperately winning the "Battle" Scenario on Prince lvl. Until around 400BC I can keep up with the AI but soon herafter I get ripped. What you think I am doing wrong? Sure the experts around here - amazing big and vivid community btw - can guess my noob faults at the very moment...

Hey guys,

I finally got Civ4 for Christmas with Warlords expansion so am getting up to speed on the latest version. Played CivII nonstop when it first came out, but was never fully enamored with CivIII. Still trying to figure out the religion aspects and how to best utilize the specialists. Looking forward to getting involved with the Game of the Month and improving. Learning that the wonders are tempting to build, but may become a costly distraction from winning the game.

I have been playing CIV IV fgor 2 months...totally addicted. Questions. How do i lose land to a country that i have pleased or friendly relations with? How can I do this? Don't even have open borders with this country. this country even backs me off with a fort and military on it.

Sounds like you might have problems managing culture. If a city you have isn't generating enough (or any) culture, then you'll lose tiles to neighbours with high culture cities nearby.

You might find it useful to read this article. :)

Oh, and welcome to the forum! :D

Hi guys...
i played civ3 back in 2003... and tried civ4 a year ago... now back to civ3 again... back to CFC forum to find out the way to mod a scenario (things that i failed to do years ago)... so far so good, i've found some tools that worked for me. thanks to all who contributes to the this wonderful-useful forum. GREAT JOB GUYS!!!

ps. this is my second id, i forget the password of my first one (never been in forum for at least 5 years do make people forget their password). tried to retrieve the password but my email server was down. couldn't wait to browse the forum, so i made a new one. anyway, the email regarding the lost password has arrived but i think i'll keep using this new id :)
