Wendy's Founder Dave Thomas Dead...

[Funeral March Song] My regrets to loss of the leader of the best fast food on the East coast of the US, Dave Thomas. [/Funeral March Song]

Speaking of Fast food, anyone been to California? They got this place called deltaco, it has some mean tacos! But, it isn't a burger place, so no comparison to Wendy's.

I wish there were wendy's around here, then I could have my nice, warm spicy chicken burger with a double sidde order of fries, two sprite cups, and a few hamburgers. Plus a frosty!
If only I could say to Dave," Dave, you made one hell of a Chicken Burger:) "

"(Some know the power of Sliders, others can only guess in fear.)"

Food suitable ONLY for the "drunk munchies".... ONLY.

Too bad about Dave--those commercials, cornbally as some of them were, were still entertaining and will be missed (and I think about 80% of advertising is at least mildly annoying... his was in the 20% that isn't.)

Seemed like a good all-around guy, who created a fast food chain that served some pretty damned good food if you ask me....

My fave "fast food" is Arby's though, but Wendy's beats most....

I know it's stupid, but if I see a comercial for a company or product that I don't like, I don't go there until I see one I do. It is my pathetic attempt at hurting those who put on awful ads. I haven't been to Mc Donalds or Burger King for a long time (also I don't drink Pepsi any more), but I do go to Wendy's whenever I want fast food. In addition to this, my father told me that he knew the Wendy that the place is named after (Dave's daughter) when he went to highschool (in Ohio), but he sometimes jokes around, so I have no idea if this is true or not.

I can tell you that there is a real Wendy, but everyone seems to have the same story of knowing her from somewhere.

Good idea. Unfortunately, I'd have to survive on my looks and wits alone (!!) if I chose to stick to that 100% - the ad agencies seem to thrive on appealing to the lowest common denominator.

When Miss Britney started flogging Pepsi :groucho:, I was right there with my hard-earned $$$.

RIP Dave Thomas

I read that Dave, before starting up Wendy's, helped Colonel Sanders of KFC turn a profit on several KFC stores.

And he was a great guy, did a lot of charity stuff and was a great PR man.

If the founders of McDonalds and Burger King (who are they anyways? nobody knows and does anyone care?) were to pass away, I wonder who would notice. Seems they have disappeared into the background and succumbed to corporate bureacracy.

Wendy's food beats those two hands down, quality wise and PR wise.

I don't know about BK, but McDonald's was founded by the McDonald's brothers and turned into a success when they sold it to Ray Kroc. He is dead, and therefore can't (or shouldn't) appear in their commercials.

You are certainly right that Wendy's is better though.

RIP Dave. Oh yeah, Wendy's can be found all over in AZ and I've seen a few over in CA too. Strangely, I don't recall ever seeing one in the central US. Maybe he wanted to be near a beach????

Wendy's rules, especially in AZ during the summer when its 120 outside and were cooking;)
