WH Discussion Thread

Aren't you tired of complaining everything we do, stormy? ;) :p

This time, squiggoth exists in WH (replacing the puny squigg). And how do you know that saurus gunner does not exist? Well, it doesnt' in the army lists of lizzies, but this ain't no average armylist. This is expanded army list.

And if you don't like it, take it to Embryodead (he wanted to put it in, if I recall correctly).

... And I don't see where the squig hopper would go in the unit tree... it's quite marginal unit, so I don't see it fit well in the epic game mod...
@kairob, why should we ditch the squiggoth? and we don't have any gfx for "snotty pumpin' wagun"...
...
Squigs could go at Alchemy*. :smug: 8-2-2 -1 HP? And I wouldn't say they're that marginal...

Apparently the Squiggoth isn't a real WHFB unit. I could ditch that.

The spider looks good.

*Alchemy, Mushroomology, what's the difference?

Making the Goblin civ more Night Goblinish is a great idea. Only problem is getting them high quality units, the fact is Goblins in general don't have any really strong people, no clear-cut "infantry" unit for 2nd era. They would have to be more specialized.

Night Goblin fanatics as (reasonably) cheap but highly effective lethal bombardment cruise missiles (a fanatic is basically on par with the best spells, but should be cheaper to build).

8/2/2 treat all terrain as roads (they jump over everything!), -1 hit points Squig Hoppers could come in somewhere?

And as a bonus, a Snotling horde as a starting warrior - 2/1 with +3 hitpoints.

Please? :(

I think this shows nicely how there can be Gobbo swordsmen and Gobbo infantry:

I just can`t imagine Orcs following a gobbo... So I take my pure NG civ suggestion, but stay a strong supporter of Gobbos sticking together without Orcs kicking them around!

Well, there were Orcs in both Waaagh Skarsnik and Waaagh Grom. Maybe instead of Crooked Moon Goblins the civ could be called Waaagh Skarsnik?

No, those are both swordsmen. And crappy swordsmen to boot.

But what about the peace periods in the game? No peace when dealing with a Waaagh ;)
Peace? We're talking about greenskins here! :p

D`ya guys need a new Gobbo LH? More WH specific like Grimgor?
We don't need one. If you're talking about asking Grandraem, I already have been :whipped: him these last weeks for a LH (for LotM), and don't want to be an even bigger pain in his behind. ;)

@mmmrrrr: Ironclaw Orcs are called that, even if they include goblins, so no need to name the civ Waaagh, which would only confuse players unfamiliar with WH. :)

No Crappier than the swordsman say, Albion has.. The dude is nekkid. And the Infantry is wearing a kilt. Nice. And 90 % of infantry units in the mod are swordsmen, just with better armor.

Can you tell us what LH did you request? :bounce: And we can ask him, it would be nice to know its on a to-do list, he can take his time with it :) You seem to have some bad associations (sp?) with requesting. There`s nothing wrong with it, especially for not super hot extra needed stuff, cos you can wait longer for it, and you don`t put pressure on the artists :)

And acting as a gentleman if something urgent comes in helps too. Like, if someone requested a ton of Zelda units from Orthanc, I know he would make them before Rex, and thats just fine with me, I requested him in advance, he will be useful to me for something I`m tinkering about, but it might come in handy to someone else before that (like Storm_Grunt).

Well, then you need more goblin units IMO, because outside of Waaaghs, orcs just don't join under a goblin banner like that :P

But the Albioners are human. Goblins are shorter than dwarfs, and much weaker. And much crappier than Albioners. :p
We're not making a goblin-only civ.

Grandraem is working on Galadriel. And the first one who says we should use that for Ariel will get a poisoned crossbow bolt in the spleen.

The thing with me and requests is that I'm very picky. Thus I wouldn't want to make a general request, and have someone spend time on making something If I don't like the end result. Now I know that Grandraem would very probably make a really sweet goblin, but I don't want anyone else to spend a lot of time on it, as the LH we have is sufficient, and if we're to add a new one it must be better.

we should use Galadriel for Ariel :p

so if dork redeye is really a ork why dont we use the current ork LH for redeye.and i also think if thers squiggoths in 40k (if 40k is in the future of this version??) there should have been squigoths back when too

@aaglo: perfect!!!! :goodjob:

@Cam: you cant post and not give us a update on the swordsman!!!!!

Very cool aaglo.
Will the spider be involved in any of the attacks (i.e.: spewing out webs or poison, or pinching the opponent... not on it's bum of course :mischief:)?
Damn, now you spoiled my surprise attack from the spider :gripe:
:mischief:
oh well... I was thinking about that spider shooting some web in the general direction of the enemy (that would be attackA), and then the gobbo would finish (?) the opponent with his spear/bad smell.

It was nice to know you - I hope the poison affects quickly ;)

40K is somewhere far in the future. And if I've understood correctly, squggoths are some sort of mutated squigs (with or without the help of some nasty Orc Dok Butcha's).
