...is the new orc archer gonna be an upgrade for the goblin archer, or a have the goblin archer for the gobbos and the orc archer for the orcs?
As aaglo made it without my authorization*, I've no idea what he wants with it.

*Yes, I'm king of the cosmos, didn't you know? :crazyeye:

@LmR!: thanks for clearing that up :)

@mrtn: I did it because I felt like it - I took a chance there :)

I think it could be used either way - as an upgrade to the goblin archer (available at invention... :dubious: ) or as a flavor archer for the Ironclaw. :)

No, the arrer boyz should not kick elven arse when it comes to archery. However, maybe we could have a goblin archer at Ballistics (as usual), and let that upgrade to the orc at Military Training? So a 5/2/1 (IIRC) upgrades to a 6/2/1.

The Undead don't hate all living though, that's a misconception. You may not have heard of either them or Lizardmen making use of Ogre mercenaries, but then have you heard of any Elves using them? Of course it's an odd kind of co-operation, but Tomb Kings and the Lizardmen are even able to ally with the Empire in the actual game, so the notion that such creatures never use living warm-bloods as allies is entirely incorrect...

So maybe Khemri should have a bunch of the empire stuff available, so skeletons can march along with greatswords, and maybe all the races can all have access to each others troops, in a huge smorgasbord of repetitive stats and dubious, occationally comical parings and alliances. Is that what you're trying to say? No? :)

When I see a bunch of skeletons and liches and vampires (oh my!) running around, then Ogres are thrown in with them...it just looks odd, and wrong. Now thats just my personal opinion, of course. I mean, if Ogres go for the highest bidder, well so do mercanaries, and thats a great wonder in the game, rather than a troop anyone can use. It seems to me, with Ogres having their own book, they're paring with other races makes sense only in respect to an alliance, just as many other races can do with each other.

The whole alliance function in Warhammer doesn't really work for Civilization, if nothing else just because of the lack of statistical range.

But hey, the ogres are limited by the resource needed for them, hopefully fairly rare, and so not everyone can use em. I suppose when you have to consider the random map, you have to say everything in the history is rewritten anyway, and look at the basic attitudes.

On a set map, though, representing the warhammer world, I think a little revision in their availability is neccessary. That has no bearing on the basic mod, but oh well...

What about the mercenaries? Make it a small wonder for everyone, rather than a great wonder.

Actually, they have Balistics Skill 3, which is better than what 40K orks have, a BS of 2.

By the way, I fully support the Ogre Kingdoms as thier own Civ. I mean, they are an offical GW army, unlike a crap pile of the civs in the mod.

What, no longer satisified with trees, aaglo?

So, I've just added a new tech to Khemri. It comes after Religion and gives the Black Pyramid and the Ushabti, which has been boosted to 10/7/1. The problem, however, is that the tech is called Colossal Constructs at the moment, and that's as cheesy as you can get...

Does anyone have a better idea for the name?

"Honour the Dead" or something?
Divine Constructs, Holy Buildings, Divine Buildings... something like that?

Colossal constructs give Ushabti? I would've thought it makes more sense to put the Bone Giant there, but never mind. I'll have a look in my copy of the most wonderful Liber Necris and see if they have any better terms to describe such advanced magics.

You are of course welcome to your personal opinion, but simply because it seems a bit odd that Ogres might work for the undead, it doesn't mean that they don't. If GW themselves say that the only nation that will not ever hire them is Bretonnians, I don't think we should rewrite that fact. As it is, the simple fact that Tomb Kings can build Ushabti means that a sufficiently advanced Tomb King nation will probably never build ogres: in which, don't concern yourself with the problem ;)

Well, I needed a suitable 2nd era tech for the uptooled Ushabti, and I also realised that it would be a good idea to move the Black Pyramid. :)
The Bone Giant is good at Conjuration, IMO.

Does anyone know of a religious tech icon that could replace the Theology one? Religion could get one too. It's not necessary, but it could be cool. No GW art, as usual. And fairly generic would be best.
