LLXerxes, if your parents won't let you download stuff, and you alone can't convice them to let you download Firefox, have them look at this thread, and everyone here will tell them how good Firefox is. And if that doesn't work, call social services, your parents forcing you to use Internet Explorer sounds like child abuse to me.

1. This needs to be a multiple poll since some of us use more than one browser (developers especially).

2. None of those browers is necessarily any more secure than Internet Explorer - the same as Linux distros not being any more secure than Windows. It just so happens that the most widely used browser gets the most attacks for exactly that reason: It's the most used browser. This is also the reason there are constant updates to patch these holes in the software. I'm not saying IE is the best, but I'm not saying it's the worst either. Just there's a lot of bias against it.
