That brings up another point, do we want designated victims, or random, or a mixture? Also the normal number for the map, or fewer? I would suggest more as a 3rd option but already know that people won't go for a rules-only mod.
It would be better to have the traits and have us decide which two we want. The two highest traits will be the winner, and then we have a runoff poll, if two civs match those traits.
That's a good idea. We can't poll civs becasue there are 31, but only 20 polling options. Let's poll the 8 traits, with a multiple selection poll where you can only pick 2 choices. This allows us to pick the civ we want, but come up with a compromise.

I like the idea of Greece, but the super early Hoplite GA could be a problem (With a SS 5CCish victory, at least) if some AI decides to get rough. The Byz are nice with their ability to get earlier contacts through Seafaring, and they have the nice Republic Slingshot with Alpha as well if we decide to go with a Difficulty you can Research on.
