What Civs Do you Fear Most?

Since im usually the Greeks i end up so rich and technologically superiour, im the only world power. If something happens and this isnt the case im usually scared of the Germans, they declare war for no apparent reason and usually have a larger military.

-Persians
Goddamn Immortals. I always try to either stay far away from them, or go ahead and injure them early on so they'll have a difficult time recovering.

-Babylonians.
The superpower of culture, if I don't conquer it, then my border citizens will run to them and beg to become a part of their glorious existance.

-Germany
It's Sci (can get advanced) and particularly agressive. Although it's not near as much of a threat as these first two, I don't like an equally-advanced AI that's mean as hell right next to me.

-Zulu
I'd discuss them but I don't think I can handle all the bad memories.

I would say expansionistic or religious civs are probably the most dangerous. Expansionistic civs can get big early and they know where you live where religious can play good civ/bad civ by changing govt quick.

Germany, Incas, Sumerians. Cause all they ever do is backstab me and go to war over the slightest little thing like them wanting wine or something and then they get all thier buddies to gang up on me and I'm forced into a multi-front war. I don't fear any UU or traits.

I just recently had an unsettling experience with the Koreans. I was MPP'ed with China, and Korea was attacking China, so that was truly bad since it meant 20 turns of war for my democracy with me as the aggressor... in the end my war weariness had plunged through the roof, and I was running at some -400 deficit to fill the monster that was the entertainment budget. Korea was also abnormally big and rather powerful too, so it did take the full length of the MPP plus some more to eradicate the bastard. So I'm inclined to say Korea, although I've got a couple of scores to settle with Shaka and Hiawatha too.

Rome is one of the worst early on in the game (leagions ewww)

Grease is pretty horrible untill you can get knights,

And Persia is one of my long time enemies.

But my number one nemisis is China! They are usually big, have large armies and are not afraid of taking a rep hit to sneak attack me when I least need war.... I WILL GET YOU MAO!!!!!

I don't fear any civs, but the Zulu get on my nerves. They declare war when they are 20 or turns away from you, and always a unit attacks you on the next turn.

I hate any civ that comes sneaking into my borders with settlers and building cities behind my back while where I plan to expand towards. It makes it even worse if they're a civ with a powerful defensive unit at the time.

Grrr...this gets me most of all....in a recent game I conquered another civ and claimed their cities and the culture boundries left openings and all the other civs rushed in settlers to claim land between the borders of the cities I conquered.....

Worst of all.....I did most of this to help out another civ in a military alliance....

None of these Civs have any loyalty to the human player for anything but self-interest and when that interests expires - they return to the annoying backstabbers they are...

Fears the wrong word. Sumeria is my pet peeve though. They're usually large and advanced.

I have no problem with Persia apart from the scientific trait. Immortals die like any other swordsmen when attacked. Legionaires or Gaelic Swordsman though:mad: AI doesn't care about wasted golden ages.

Japan: they always attack me for no reason and refuse to leave my territory.

That's why I usually play as them.

Also Persia- immortals are evil.

I once vented my anger by playing a game against (specifically) Persian, Zulu, Mongols, and Romans. Very pleasant to be able to get those civs to fight each other as I rolled on to a conquest victory. :-)

1. Zulus.. Never met a trully honest Shaka
2. Chinese.. Geat traits + a very strong UU, fortunately Mao doesn't always use his military the way he should.
3. England, but that's just because Elizabeth freaks me out ;)

India is the Civ that has given me the most problems - it has been awhile since I have taken a history class, but that Gandhi must have been one of the most blood-thirsty tyrants the world has ever seen.

One turn he is Gracious towards me, has a RoP, and MPP, the next he is dropping nukes and torching every city he captures. He can't be trusted at all.

My oh #$% list for a neighbor would be:

Zulu
Mongols
Greek

These guys are hard to knock off early and all seem to make a real habit of attacking me almost on sight.

Don't like the Russians or Babs much either but if I see them next door I just "see" a target painted on the leaderhead. Get 'em early or regret it.

First, last and always: the Zulus. When these are around they always start a war too soon. So instead of quitely building my empire they force me into war.

Second without any doubts: America , in the early game they are nice and friendly but as soon they have become larger than average, these arrogant bastards start demanding tribute, want science for nothing so this also always means war. A war on another continent because if i encounter them on MY continent i b=never give them the chance to become larger than average.

And third.. Egypt, because they always condemn me for harassing their chicken and frightening their women (or viceversa)
