What difficulty do you play on?

I go back and forth between Warlord and Regent. I'm not a warmonger, and if you don't have iron and horses, it's hard to even build a good defense with offensive units. The AI will attack early and often and it's a nuisance, so I usually quit and start a new game at that point.

I've had a very long string of bad RNG luck with resources lately, but if I have the resources, I can do well at either level. I haven't tried Monarch yet.

Monarch if I want fun. Emperor for a more engrossing game.

I can win comfortably on Monarch. I've played a few Emperor games but haven't won yet, though I've come close.

I tried moving up to Regent today, but civil disorder in the capital occured, and that pissed me off. I do not know if I should continue on warlord, but I fear it will somehow be too easy... Perhaps I will stay on Regent.

The warlord-regent transition is miniscule. Move up the sooner the better. When you still have few cities press F1 for a quick happiness check at the end of each turn.

I can beat Demi-god so that is what I play if I want a 'serious' game. If I am not doing that, I am usually playing some kind of variant on monarch or emporer.

1. get a settler factory going
2. get iron or horses (better if you have both
3. make immortal/horsedudes and speardude stack
4. GO ON A RAMPAGE!! mwahahahaha!

All you need is ~5 cities and a lot Immortals. Nothing else. They're the best unit in the game.

@Swiss Bezerker: I think the game was ment to be that way, most players in the mid levels.

Mostly Emperor, if I want to experiment I go Monarch.
I have tried three games on Demigod and won one of them. I think that 33,3% success score will be standing for a while.

I just recently moved up to monarch, but it's actually much easier than I thought it would be, so I may be off to get stomped on emperor any day now. Ahh... that'll be fun for sure.

Yeah, Monarch to Emp is a challenge. I play, and usually lose, on Emperor. Move up from Regent to Monarch, its not that hard. 10% build bonus of the AI is the main challenge.

For the epic game, I mostly play demigod or emperor these two I random everything except world size(Standard). I won twice on Deity, but I need to set the conditions and choose a top Civ.

Now I'm playing the conquests scenarios again.

I usually play on Demigod. I could most likely pull of a Deity win, if I had a good start, although I haven't tried.
