What do Avatars mean to you?

Mainly, I feel that they mean personality, character, belief, and overall, identity. Which is why I can't wait to get my own.

I've used this one for a while (in other places - took me forever to get 300 posts to use it here). It's a part of a promo desktop for a game I've played. Liked the character design, so I decided to use it. I've extracted a whole bunch of other images from various games and made avatars from them as well. Usually I'll rotate them after a while.
All I ask for in an avatar design is 'does it look cool?'. Deeper significance needs more than 65x65 pixels, imo..

Not overall identity - just part of it, in line with your user name (if it actually means anything).

A nonsensical avatar can be just a whim or attempt at misdirection - a way to remain mysterious.

I've never felt any need for my avatar to match my nick, as should be fairly obvious with my present one.

I do, however, use titles corresponding to my avatar. I rather like my present one - it rubs my ego the right way.

Alternatively, you could, as a newbie, choose your user name partly because there's a good standard avatar to match it (i.e., the fanatic). Not to mention that this is, after all, CivFanatics .

As for college....I'm taking three political science courses next term....even though I'm a Finance major. Hope to go and get a degree in Poli. Sci. though.

Mostly because there's not many classes related to the major I can take at this point.....only a Business Law course. I don't have enough credits to take the next course, Accouting 203. I fall one credit short.
