I usually get a Great Artist from Music but not sure the best way of using it. If I am at war (rarely, I am a peacemonger :) ), then I use the culture bomb. If not I just settle him in a border town.

I concur. Golden age is most useful.

Sometimes culture bomb. Especially if I'm on the warpath, if I get a GA around that time, I'll save him up to culture-bomb a city out of revolt the turn I capture it. Especially if it has a nice shrine in it, it'd be worth it to get that city up and running now instead of 8 turns from now.

Golden Age here as well.

Except my current game where I desperately needed a border pop to claim land.

If I'm first to music it normally means I am going for a cultural win, so I settle him.

Normally if I get a great artist though I golden age or occasionally do a culture bomb or settle, especially after sci meth if my oil supply is close to or in a neighbours land.

Golden age is the most normal use... But using them for cultural victory is sometimes also nice.

I usually settle, simply because I've usually got a border city that could use a culture boost against another Civ's culture and the extra base 3 gold/turn for the rest of the game can come in handy. Usually the Great Artist from Music won't Bulb anything significant, and I don't normally do Golden Ages that early; I like to save my 1-GP golden age for later in the game.

Usually golden age--If I win the Music GA, I'll often just let him cool his heels for a while before popping him for a golden age that will rush me into the liberalism and/or the free-market enabling tech.

Occasionally settle--occasionally culture bomb.

Sometimes you'll get an opportunity where your capital or second city (or maybe an AI capital that you took early on) is cranking out a lot of culture, and some AI has a couple cities 4-5 squares away from it, and you can flip them with a culture bomb.

First one golden ages, usually.

Subsequent ones settle either in the Hermitage city (along a quasi-permanent border) or the wall street city (for that bit of extra GPT).

I usually don't get more than 2 or 3 GAs though, even when there's "GA pollution" in a city with lots of GA wonders. I don't have too much trouble drowning GA points out with GS/GM.

That's usually my first golden age, although it won't be immediate. At the very least, I'll hold the GA until I'm ready for a civics and religon switch, or if I have a shot at MoM.

I very rarely use the culture bomb, and never bulb with the GA from Music because the options I find myself with (Drama, usually) are just not worth it. So I'll either put 'em on ice until it's time for the golden age or figure out where to settle.

For me, I would be interested in how others decide where to settle. I agree with Skallagrimson that the Hermitage or WS cities are good choices; usually the Hermitage is in my "third" culture city, the one that needs the boost in the event all else fails and I'm looking at a late game culture win.

If we're talking about the one from music, mainly GoldenAge but as someone suggested maybe a little later on to make some painless civic changes.

If its a try for a culture victory then settle in the one of the three culture cities with lowest production since that city will take longer to get the multiplier buildings in.

If we're talking about GA's that show up later in the game from events or on the 1/20th chance out of your NE city then I'll either go with the golden age or save for Jewler's. Sometimes I go through periods where after getting a pretty nice piece of land I'll shoot to get the 4 corp WS city while going on my space run.

(after the facepalm usually save for a golden age)

Well, I could actually vote truthfully - I don't usually get an Artist from Music (Immortal-Deity). But yeah, how could you miss Golden Age option!
