What do you listen to while playing?

Once you get tired of the game music (only took me one game to get tired of it), what do you play (if anything) so that you don't live in complete silence?

Me, I've been listening to No Doubt and De La Soul.

Ingame music. In a lot of other games I'd just turn it off (I do like to hear the other game sounds, usually) But the Civ3 music isn't too bad.

When I first saw reviews for this game, it mentioned that a lot of people didn't like the background music. I guess there are some people that like it (even though there aren't many songs).

Until 16 months ago, classic or prog rock (generally ELO or Asia).

Now, I listen to the baby monitor. I usually only get a chance to play when the baby goes down so I listen downstairs in case he wakes up.

Occassionally, I'll play with the TV on during football season. When I hear crowd noise, I can look up and catch a replay.

I usually just let the ingame music run. It's pleasant, as a background noise. (It's not like I *listen* to it, after all. ;))
Same here. :yup:
Plus, most mods have new songs and stuff. So it doesn't get that boring for me. :)
My mod will have songs added among the old ones ... so you'll have to bear the old ones to get to the new. :p

Civ3 ingame music is quite good, but I still rather listen to Iron Maiden. :)

And as Padma said, I don't really listen to the music while playing, it's just a background. My focus is 100% on Civ. :D

I listen to my winamp as well. I think I have about 2500 songs on there right now.

The sounds coming from the television

Didn't take me long to switch the music off in favour of something else myself. I do still play with it as background, like Padma said, but infrequently. These days, I'm more interested in modding the soundtrack, so that your own music works in-game.

usually some Pink Floyd's album.
but lately whatever spanish radio (moved temporary to Spain) to listen to the language

Oftentimes I listen to the radio. I have a tendency to zone out whatever I'm listening to though, and suddenly realise I'm hearing horse racing or some such rubbish. Then I put on a CD, and don't notice when it finishes, and play for another 3 hours in silence.

I listen to the game music sometimes, but not very often. Usually I'm listening to Relient K or Showbread.

I mixed some of Platonius's Rood of the Dragon soundtrack into the first two era's. Its got some good Braveheart sounding tunes(Goes nice with the Celts). I also added some Last of the Moheakens(sp)Love that theme song!
Generally I can put up with the original score, only a few crappy middle-age tracks get to me.

The cries of anguish as I crush my enemies, to see them driven before me, and hear the lamentations of their women.

I know... not quite a direct quote.

And yes, I need to get out more.
