Once you get tired of the game music (only took me one game to get tired of it), what do you play (if anything) so that you don't live in complete silence?
Me, I've been listening to No Doubt and De La Soul.
When I first saw reviews for this game, it mentioned that a lot of people didn't like the background music. I guess there are some people that like it (even though there aren't many songs).
Same here.
Plus, most mods have new songs and stuff. So it doesn't get that boring for me.
My mod will have songs added among the old ones ... so you'll have to bear the old ones to get to the new.
Didn't take me long to switch the music off in favour of something else myself. I do still play with it as background, like Padma said, but infrequently. These days, I'm more interested in modding the soundtrack, so that your own music works in-game.
Oftentimes I listen to the radio. I have a tendency to zone out whatever I'm listening to though, and suddenly realise I'm hearing horse racing or some such rubbish. Then I put on a CD, and don't notice when it finishes, and play for another 3 hours in silence.
I mixed some of Platonius's Rood of the Dragon soundtrack into the first two era's. Its got some good Braveheart sounding tunes(Goes nice with the Celts). I also added some Last of the Moheakens(sp)Love that theme song!
Generally I can put up with the original score, only a few crappy middle-age tracks get to me.
