I’ve heard that shaking “bruises” the alcohol. I’m not too sure about that, but shaking it can certainly make it a wee cold and dull the flavors.

It's martini time!

I really can't imagine wanting to pay a ton of money for a tiny little alcoholic beverage. The only mixed drinks I've had are glasses with Coke and some sort of Liquor poured in.

A martini is equal to 3 drinks, so you really pay the same... just less other liquid cutting it.

Not exactly, in the U.S. our beer comes in 12 OZ increments and most of it is 5%.

12 X .05 = .6 OZ alcohol
And a typical shot is 1.5OZ of 80 proof (40%) so
1.5 X .40 = .6 OZ alcohol

Beer is usually served in Pints or Liters in Europe depending on the place.

I remember an old thread we had here where a Belgian guy says if he orders a liter of beer and is served a pint in England he will punch the bartender in the face for screwing him out of a few sips. Lulz were had.

If your martinis are tiny you're not making them right :)

If you want to want to look butch in a bar then a Martini isn't the way to go. Order a cosmopolitan to make you look like James Bond.

More than a few sips, I would think, given that a pint is 568ml.

...Or I've just learned something about the way Belgians drink.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that this post was ironic.
