What does your name mean?

In Hindu mthology , there are three main supergods , all working in perfect harmony :

1) Brahma , the creator

2) Vishnu , the preserver

3) Shiva , the destroyer

I named myself aneeshm by combining my first name , Aneesh , and the first letter of my surname , which is Mulye . And Aneesh is another name given to Shiva , the lord of destruction .

There have been so many threads about this, maybe we should sticky one of them so that there will be one official thread about you Username. Mine is easy. I like Classical Music, so that explains the first part of my name. The second part is because I am a very heroic person, (I wish).

Here are the other relevant threads.

[thread]94728[/thread]

EDIT. The same thing might happen to this thread as what happened the older thread of the two that I gave a link to.

I fancied an old song by Stone Temple Pilots called 'sour girl' and thought I related to one of the lines "she was a sour girl but looks are deceiving" - as many people used to think I was mad all the time because I didn't smile much. In all actuality I was neither happy nor mad.

Not long after I started feeling that life really stunk & would be so much better if people cared just a little bit. I started to give up on life and I guess you could say I've become sour at heart & thus I went with this name - after a gender modification of course.

I've held true as I occasionally become sour round hyuh, particularly when people call me "Sourboy" - yes, over a simple capitalization.

This has been posted before by Håkan, but I'll answer it anyway, my name means high-king (or something like it - Hå is Norse high and konr is Norse for king)

Wait a minute? So now there's both a Håkon and a Håkan Eriksson?

RealGoober:

Goober is my work nickname, that stuck somehow - yes, I know its other meanings in the South of the USA.

Real because the name Goober was taken here, and it sounded the best. I really want my name to be just "Goober", but TF won't change it.

Man this thread is from the middle ages.

Anyways, I choose h4ppy on another site since Happy was already taken, it stuck.(and it won't be changed appearently) I don't know why I choose it. It doesn't fit me since I am not that happy sounding very often now.

Um, I chose my name because it was the only object I could think of that started with two A's. I wanted it like that so I would appear high on the active users list. I also use it on other forums besides this one. Plus, it is the unsung everyday object that I believe is worthy to be my nickname. Some people who know me here just call me AA though. :)

Round here people learn the name of the highly active users, regardless of it's alphabetical precedence.

If I used your reasoning for a name, I probably would have started with something like 'AA Reject' or 'AA Dropout'

Aardvark would have been a cool one too - easy avatar association as well, though I like R2 :goodjob:

I get my name from my real-life name, which means "day" in Ge'ez.

"Yom" is "day" in Hebrew... so you were an Israeli??

Boogaboo is a name I adapted for myself.
It was originally a game called "bugaboo the flea" on an old computer (ZX spectrum).
It looked like a frog that fell in a hole in the ground and has to get out.
You could only power-jump (up-)left or right.
You only die when the "evil bird" gets you.
It is hard to get the mission done, though.
I never succeded as a boy, but later - yeah!

I think I have played a similar game on the Amstrad CPC 464...

Ge'ez - a language from Ethiopia - is related to Hebrew, so it shouldn't be too surprising if they share the word for "day".

Didn't know of such a language....
