I think some kind of nod to corporations and something around vassal states or civil war would please the most people.
Well, it would certainly make
me happy.
I’d love to see some sort of “corporations” mechanic, that covers everything from Medieval Guilds, to Colonial Trading Companies to modern MNCs. But I don’t know how it would work. I don’t like the idea of companies spreading like Religions. I also don’t like the idea of monopolising a resource being part of the mechanics - companies are really not about monopolies. So, yeah, corporations. Love it. Know idea what they do. But love it.
I did this poll to know what people are interested in receiving in future DLCs.
Other than corporations, I’d like to see game modes that make managing your economy and or citizens harder and or more interesting. I could see something like Vassals or Colonies fitting in there (although, mostly I wish we just had “vassals” in the sense that you could have like a “class” of Cities that don’t require micro and are distinct from core cities - but like how in HK you should be able to fold new territories into the area of existing cities).
A “more barbs” mode would be cool, perhaps letting you interact with barbs like they’re city states.
A “military” mode that makes the military part of the game more involved.
If we’re talking total wish list, I’d love to see something that introduces more Steam Punk / Diesel Punk. I’d likewise be happy with something that does more with AI, so long as it doesn’t just default into Off-Brand Skynet (would that be “SidNet”, or maybe “ED-209”?).
I really don’t know. I can’t really be all that bothered speculating what the next four (or five?) game modes will be. I guess maybe a military one, something called internally “Alternate Economy”, and probably something to do with corporations somewhere. Frankly, I’m fairly okay with what we’ve got so far, and expect I’ll like the next game modes more or less, whatever they are.
