What games deserve a remake?

I'd like to see a remake of SimCopter with the same sorta game engine but better graphics. Great gameplay, but (bleep)ing graphics. (Although some of you may disagree about the gameplay.)

Skies of Arcadia doesn't need a remake, it was damn near perfect as it is. Sequel yes, remake no
There is a remake for the GameCube, which is the version I've played.

A sequel would be nice, though. The world is engaging enough that the game at least deserves a follow-up in the same universe, even if it's not a direct sequel.

Why is SimEarth so special?
Because, you can play god over an entire planet, with many sliders to adjust conditions on the planet. Spore on the other hand, doesn't. You just cause events to occur, basically.

yeah, Simearth was awesome......too bad my CD broke like 5 years ago.....:(

Glover. Glover on the Wii would be insane in the membrane.

Yeah, but without the rediculious bright colors... they hurted my eyes.

Final Fantasy had a shot after VII when they made VIII, IX, and X (they all sucked beyond belief). Also X-2, XI, and XII were a disappointment too.

Try Ghost and Goblins, Contra (a decent remake), Altred Beast (again, a decent remake), Double Dragon, all Atari games (make them 3D).

Also Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (arcade), because I used to be a BIG TMNT fan in the late 80's and early 90's.

Edit: 1942 and Xevious, too... they were awesome that needs a big facelift.
SimEarth (already discussed), SimTower (in 3D), and SimCopter (already discussed).

Shogun: Total War needs a remake bad...

To those who mention Zelda: A Link to the Past and Final Fantasy VI, there are remakes on the GBA.

Let's see...it would be nice the see the original Legend of Zelda be remade, just like Metroid was.

I think Gamespy had a list of the top 10 classic computer games that need a remake, and #1 was...

STAR CONTROL II!!!

I want a real FF VI remake, not the same game with the same graphics on a handheld.

Does Final Fantasy VI really need a remake? Outside of cosmetic issues like graphics and sound, I can't think of what could really be done to improve it. Same goes for most of the older (pre-PS2) FF games, really.

If any FF needs a remake, and not just some touch-ups, it would probably be VIII. I enjoyed most of the game, but the draw system is, at best, a "noble failure." If it could be replaced, or at least somehow made less tedious, that'd be great. Maybe something like Final Fantasy Origins for the PlayStation, where you could choose at the beginning of the game whether you want to play with the original or the revised rules?
