I bought a new laptop, and I need some games for it! The graphics suck, and it has Vista, so it's gotta be something "old". Obviously it'll have Civ on it (and AoEII, and SimCity 3k), but I need some "non-strategy" games as well.
Omg get Fahrenheit and Still Life! Hurry! They're both adventures and o' so awesome. And they're very cheap now and dont require any badass hardware.
Oh, and you should try Portal if your laptop is up for it. Purest awesomeness.
I recommend you give Puzzle Quest a try if you can stand playing variations of Bejeweled. Nice casual game with some rpg flair.
There's a lot of nice, low hardware demands, freeware games at reloaded.org as well.
Peopel still play it. I need to see if I can reinstall it as my current install isn't worknig anymore for some unknown reason.
Rome: Total War is good, but also strategy.
You can probably run Half-Life 2 on it, and definately Half-Life 1, Opposing Forces, Blue Shift and Team Fortress Classic (all 4 for only $15 US on steam).
Great suggestions. My flatmate's got Diablo II and Fahrenheit, and I've got HL 1 (w/ CS, TFC, etc), so they'd be the first things on my list. I'm a bit reluctant to play FPSs though, cos I won't always have a mouse... (just the touchpad thing - not ideal!). For this reason, I'm not too keen on games where speed/reactions is important.
I've never played Morrowind, but I like the looks of it. I think a kind of slow-ish adventure/RPG game would be good, like Final Fantasy, but not quite as... "fluffy"
KOTOR (both if you can)
Elder Scrolls 3
Diablo 2
Warcraft 3
Some of the older Command and Conquers
The older Need for Speeds are good if you need a racing game.
