What if we all agreed?

If everyone agreed with each other over pretty much everything, then what? Are we all part of some bigger process whereby our genetics are either being preserved or destroyed? And if we could just "sit still" in this process and not seek to undermine each other, would that in itself be an intolerable situation?

Then someone or something ensured the end (or lack of a beginning) of all disagreements.

And there will be new arguments and new consensuses and more new arguments and we humans will believe that something spectacular has been achieved in all of it because it was, after all, we who did it.

Honestly, it sounds pretty chill

I mean, unless we agreed on something factually wrong, of course

Hmm. I guess it would depend upon the nature of the belief. People largely agreed that the Earth was the center of the universe for thousands of years. In a sense it didn't seem to hurt them to believe that. They still had babies and their babies grew up to have babies and so on. Clearly some beliefs just wouldn't work, such as the notion that jumping off a 10 story window ledge is always a good thing.

Without disagreement, there would be no progress.

Life would be profoundly boring.

Total agreement is why most of the snag forums I ever belonged to were really boring places. People posted pictures, smileys, and .gifs, and the result was a constant stream of "thank you" and "lovely" and "beautiful." Any attempt to get a real conversation going - not an argument, mind you, just a conversation - was ignored.

So everyone should agree with me that humanity must be destroyed?

If everyone just agreed on everything, it would make sense to come up with as many random opinions as possible in order to set precedent on thought for the future. Everyone now agrees that avocado farms on pluto's surface would be the most efficient use of terraforming and Pluto should be used for no other purpose! Basically society would run on an intellectual trademark-esique arms race by trying to stake out positions before anyone else
