Would the clone also be Jesus?

I think it would be more productive to clone Bobba Fett.

What is so special about Jesus? I went to school with a few Jesus'.

No, because I doubt there is any genetic material left anywhere to make such a clone possible.

A clone would not have the original's life experiences, so this would not be the individual we think of as the New Testament Jesus.

To a christian view no.

A clone would be like an identical twin, identical genetically in terms of the physical body, but quite distinct from the other individual in terms of the soul. Furthermore as Jesus in christian theology is God the Son, who pre-existed his incarnation, a clone would lack completely the divine essence of Christ and as such could hardly be considered equivalent.

I'm guessing there's one of two possibilities. ( Jesus not existing at all is outside of the scope of this discussion, obv. )

1) Jesus turns out to exist but just be a normal holy man. In that case you'd just have a clone of some guy.

2) Jesus turns out to exist and actually be God. In that case I think it would be 100% impossible to speculate.

Perhaps you'd accidentally create a fourth hypostasis and destroy eternity:crazyeye:

You would need DNA material to clone.

To clone Jesus is desirable. For Jesus said "be like your Father in Heaven."
So we should all try to be divine and perfect like Jesus/Father. But instead cloning this is done by development of consciousness. For what Jesus realy is is not some all knowing dude from the past but infinite and immortal cosciousness.

If I wasn't rescuing this thread, it'd be better off locked for lack of anything substantive to discuss.

Unlike abortion thread #457 amirite

The real political power should remain with existing governments, but cloned Kahless, err, I mean, Jesus could serve as a figurehead emperor to give moral and spiritual guidance to the people.
