According to the fact it's an anonymous poll, can you all tell me what is, according to you, a good ally of the United States ?

A good Ally as the UK has been and will more than likely continue to be,
Should be able to restrain and bring common sense to its ally, when its hell bent on a rash and short sighted foreign policy,
unfortunatley we bottle it.

....and since you are with us here is a bone. :D

I honestly believe that the TRILLIONS of dollars the US has given the world is worth a little more than a 'bone.' Quite possibly, the chaos in Kosovo & Bosnia that the Euros ignored is worth at least a "Meaty Bone."

Trillions? You sure. Be carefull when you throw numbers around.

I will let numbers do the talking here

If you go to the USAID official site then unfortunately you will not find any historical numbers or the amount of military aid. Do we have something to hide or are we ashamed of something? Hmmmm..... :crazyeye:

I honestly believe ....

You can honestly believe in whatever you want. But if you honestly believe in a falsehood then you are letting yourself getting duped. Not a good idea.

EDIT: As a % of GDP US gives the least in AID. And more than 1/2 of that AID is in military equipment.

So yes I was wrong. It is not even a whole bone. It is half a bone.

Of course percentages don't change the fact that we give more than the others.

Sure. But when you take out the military aid part then we give much less than the others.

And I am slightly hesitant to call guns and bombs aid (which is why you won't find those numbers on the USAID site). :(

The European economy owes its every transaction to the US. The same goes for Japan & Korea and also Canada. The Europeans and the Canadians support little or no national defense and both would implode if the US were to turn its back. This is also true with Russia and we provide the grease for China's factories. Without us, nothing works. This cycle, which began when Europe's deal with the devil fell through, will continue until Western Civilization is at an end. As I said elsewhere, the world will not survive the collapse of the United States.

As for the trillion-dollar figure you object to, an actual price cannot be put on the American blood spilled across the globe. The lives we’ve saved and the babies born free of Fascism is also difficult to measure. I say this number is in the trillions and only grows larger by the day.

The US brings peace, commerce, freedom and prosperity. That too cannot be measured in simple dollars. Far into the future, if we do not allow the barbarians to sack the palace, historians will readily agree that the United States was the greatest gift this world had ever been given. Europe understands the American dream - - they’re alive because of it. But if you’re thumping for numbers, I’ll retract and simply say we’ve done nothing but breed resentment in those lands that cannot govern themselves.

I think I'm going to throw up! :vomit:
Of the top 10 greatest gifts the world has been given, none of them will be the names of countries, this much I guarantee.

They will also record that the UK was Europe's only saving grace. That should make the pain of our glory more bearable to our well-bred cousins - - - -
