What is a "Living Wage"

The living wage for two adults is significantly lower than for a minor and an adult, whch set off the BS detector. On the face of it, that is backward. If each adult is making that wage, it should have been specified.

That is one thing they really didn't make abundantly clear and it bothers me. They don't really specify if the multiple adult number factors in all adults working, or only one adult working.

It's worse than that. From my experience raising 5 children, the numbers are not for a living wage, but a comfort wage. Unless you are an adult living alone, there are firmly middle class amounts. What they have to do with poverty is an unanswered question.

and would not outgrow old clothes as often requiring new clothes to be purchased.

Clothes aren't too big a deal assuming you make friends with other parents with older kids.
