What kind of lazy community is this?

Do you guys know about this thread

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=383754

Do you guys realise it has been 4 years and Civ V is still unplayable in multiplayer and at higher turns in singleplayer? Do you guys realise this is literally the only thread that talks about this and it is dated october 2010?

What the hell is going on in this community? Where is the outrage, where is the spam of e-mails to 2k to make them realise this is not acceptable? 4 years of the same lag, same problems, and 2k does nothing and what do you guys do? Talk about roleplaying civs?

I've bought CIV 5 3 weeks ago. I've tried to play with my friend and we had to play with 1 minute wait for each turn after 50-60 turns, going to 3 minutes at 200 turns. We were fed up, tried Civ 4 and got absolutely no lag at all.

Why is nobody saying anything, why isn't there even one thread complaining?

You guys are really sad. Read that thread and look at those guys hoping for a patch in 2010, there is still no fix and not even a sign of complaint.

What the hell? Unbelievable. Are you going to do something about this or is this community so zombified you're gonna pay for a game that gives you nothing other than lag and errors? No words.

Well first off, you concluded your several hundred word rant with the phrase "no words", which is a little misleading :)

Also, while I don't play online, I know plenty of people enjoy it. And your issues are most likely linked to the state of your computer (which would explain why Civ 4 works better - much lower requirements). I have a lot of lag too, but I don't blame Civ V or the devs: my laptop is atrociously outdated. I'd recommend booting it up on DirectX 9. I find it helped my lag a lot. Play around with the settings too! Worse unit textures = faster turn times. I play with almost all the settings on low, and that makes a big difference. I'd highly recommend giving Civ V another try. My hour-count on Steam says 333 hours played, and I have yet to get tired of it :)

Are you guys still this blind, you just go "your computer is bad"? Me and my friend both have high end computers, this is the game's fault. And all you can come up with is this "play with the settings" like i asked for advice because i don't know why this is happening?

Look at the thread. There's people testing with resource monitor looking at random CPU spikes when the game is in idle, going from 12 to 100 back to 12 in a matter of seconds for no reason, creating unbearable lag.

I'm already at DX9 with everything on low, this is the game's code fault and this community isn't doing ANYTHING to fix it, not even a single complaint since 2010, where people actually tried to understand what caused what and understood it was the game's fault and were waiting for the patches that never came.

And 4 years later, nothing.

What a bunch of zombies.

Multiplayer isn't exactly the most played game mode, just to start off

I tried it once, and I had absolutely no lag!

Also, telling people they are pretty sad just because they don't endlessly complain and spam is(wait for it) pretty sad.

We learnt to cope with it, no game is perfect, and lag is a common problem in games. Get over it.

You tried it. Once.

The other guy never played it.

yeah i'm starting to see a pattern here, pretty much nobody cares about multiplayer lol

Case closed, you guys are pathetic, enjoy roleplaying or whatever

Just because the problem no longer exists is no reason to not fix it

I play multiplayer games literally every day. The problem you are referring to does not exist or is due to a problem on your end. When there is massive lag between turns it is usually due to the host of the game struggling to process AI and CS movements.

Lag during the game itself(bad response time) is caused by a bad internet connection.

The game is by no means bug free but it has gotten much better over time.

I'm just asking you this, why should we spam and annoy Firaxis? It's not gonna change anything. They're not going to change it if you annoy them.

You should learn to cope with it. Also, I played multiplayer(once, but that's still better than zero), other people played multiplayer. Lots of people I know have played multiplayer, and only a few of them had problems with lag.

Case closed, you are an idiot, enjoy raging or whatever

Indeed.
Actually I only play multiplayer, I've played multiplayer for hundreds of hours.
And while it's not flawless often I don't experience any issues most of the time.

I too play online multiplayer weekly and don't experience problems. If I did, I'd say something. I also play on the highest settings and large maps.

I did experience issues on a previous PC but since upgrading my specs, everything has worked fine.

I also play solo games and would say the turn times (apart from waiting for someone to complete their turn) are pretty similar.

Didn't realise. I am running sli titans, i7 4.1 ghz, 64 ram, 1440p display and it runs flawlessly even on huge maps. I feel for you, but the only way to play huge maps with < 10 sec. turn wait, like in the thread you refer to, is to buy a modern high end system.

I do realise the code is far from perfect.
