Worst case? Biochemical Iraqi-modified SCUD warheads fired on Israel. I don't think Iraq has the capability for anything greater at this time.
The worst likely scenario would be pulverization of a country that turns out to have little or no offensive capability. If just the Iraqi military could be annihilated, it wouldn't be so bad. I wouldn't call that a war, though. A genuine war confined to the armed forces of both nations would be a best possible scenario.

I voted "biological and chemical weapons used on israel," because that flashpoint would be the likely trigger for a limited world war. I wouldn't be surprised if a few nuclear weapons were deployed by countries other than Israel. If there was a major WMD attack on the US, the second we found out what country the funding originated from, we'd nuke 'em. That simple. More dominoes would fall, there would probably be a religious war of Muslims against everybody else (at least until the moderate Muslims wised up, cacked their firebrand fanatic Mullahs and sued for peace).

the worst possible case is that Iraq actually has these phantom WMD. And having them, after the states go in and push Saddam's back to the wall, Saddam launches them on Israel, the US troops in his country that are not near the oil wells. And he also gives weapons to terrorists for them to use against the US and its allies. Then the US would respond by launching a nuke in Bahgdad.
Edit: I forgot to include the fact that the terrorist attacks would not stop, thus there would be greater pressure on governments to do something, This would cause them to gradually get more power. The next thing you know, five years later, is that walking down the street, you will be asked by a police officer, "May i see your papers?" Warrants will no longer be needed to tap phone lines or conduct searches. Trials will be private, and cammeras will start to be placed in homes as you have nothing to hide if you aren't a terrorist. Thus our liberties are gone, and the terrorists have indeed won as our stature of living has gone down the Sh*tter with our consent, indirectly caused by them.
That my friends, is the worst case scenario.

The worst scenario for an attack that'll take place within the next year would be the use of bio - chimical scuds on Israel and perhaps other countries in the region as well and the equiping of terrorists with these weapons. However these things aren't much more likely to happen during a war than without a war (there were already reports saying that Iraq supplied Palestinians with chimical weapons)

I personally am terrified that the latest weapon in terrorists arsenals, a giant dragon, will eat everyone. And I mean everyone, including the terrorists. Infact the dragon would probably eat them first. Then eat everyone else. Awww man i'm gonna have nightmares tonight.

He will resort to the use of weapons of mass destruction, no question about it. He ain't just an average guy, he's got stylee, oh yeah! But if he starts ramming Israel with WMD warheads, it won't be good. It's pretty obvious that he will use them against our ground forces when we penetrate Iraq. He knows he's going down, thus he wants to take the maximum number of lives with him.
That would in turn result to the world's largest atomic bomb ever employed in combat to be fired from one of the Israeli silos. The bomb will have a payload of several megatons and will eliminate the nuisance we know as Baghdad and will be dubbed Baghdad Betty. If he surives the tragedy, James Cameron will make a horrible movie and willl be haunted to death by the ghosts of the dead like he is currently haunted by the ghosts of the Titanic. Cameron's movie, Baghdad Betty, is the worst possible scenario for a war in Iraq.

Far too little oil gets out of the Middle East to support Western (non-US) industrial countires' needs. This result in collapsing economies, mass unemployment worse than ever seen before, civil unrest and the persecution of foreigners, and ultimately undemocratic elements seize power, leading to an European war.
Having just dined heavily, I'm too passive to try to figure out what happens in other parts of the world.
