Hi, just wondering if anyone here is a Quentin Tarantino fan like I am:). Just post what movies of his you have seen and if possible maybe your favorite of his:). There is going to be a poll soon;).

I have seen KillBill (1 and 2), Jackie Brown, Pulp Fiction, and Reservoir Dogs (though it was a long time ago and I forgot most of it:P).

My favorite is and probably always will be Kill Bill. While Pulp Fiction had the cool storyline that didn't start at the start and end at the end (for a major lack of a better word:P) and characters (and jokes:D), and Jackie Brown had the sweet plot and songs, Kill Bill had the cool death scenes and beheading parts that make movies totally awesome for me:).

Now it is your turn to share:).

Of your list:
Kill Bill 1
Kill Bill 2
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction

Also saw:
From Dusk Till Dawn (waste of time, but I saw it)

Dang:wallbash:, knew I would miss something:P. If a mod could be so kind could they put a "other" and "none" for me in my poll:). Thanks if you can:). Meh, I never saw from Dusk Till Dawn (and if you say it is bad I won't look for it the next time I go to Borders then either) which probably could help explain its lack in the poll which could go under other to....

All but Reservoir Dogs. And I like them very much.

Although I don't like how people consider Kill Bill 1 & 2 as different movies. It was really one movie in two installments.

It's not a Tarantino movie. He's got a small role. And I think he was one of the producers. But he certainly didn't direct.

And it stunk. It stunk in a way which can stimulate conversation, but I certainly wouldn't pay money for it. Or call it a Tarantino film.

Yeah I know and was thinking about putting Kill Bill in like that but then some people only saw one or the other which wouldn't help (would of been a lot better [I agree] if he would of just stuck with his original idea of just a 4 hour flick). But also take note in the "split" they also took out a lot more sex and gore that might have bumped up the rating to which, might not have helped them get more people to watch and also they could cash in more on two movies (I think).

No, the gore in the first part was there on purpose and not in the second part on purpose. You'll notice that Kill Bill is filmed in discrete styles to reflect different movie genres. There's a blaxploitation sequence, two distinct martial arts film sequences, an anime, a western sequence, and so one.

The only really gory parts were the anime and the sequence with O-ren Ishiii, which is styled after ridiculously gory japanese karate style of film. As those parts were naturally in the first section and not the second, there wasn't the need for the gore in the second.

I doubt Tarantino would have allowed them to censor his work for a bigger audience.

Yeah I know the gore probably wouldn't have done much and it was almost too much (though you have to admit the cheesy decapitiation part was funny:D) with O-ren Ishii (or is it iii:hmm:?).

However, you didn't acknowledge the sex he would of added (if you knew it was originally going to be one movie I am sure you read/heard about that he was going to have a character [I think it was O-ren Ishii's mom] getting "raped" in the little cartoony part [correct me if I am wrong though I doubt it] in the "script" that was out online before the movie that led to some debates) which could of done something and actually was censored in the first film.

Well you never know....

Also, on a dorky side note, I actually have a genuine poster from what would of been the poster of the whole "single" movie signed by everyone who had a important part or was an actor in the movie in a cardbox in bubble-wrap in my loft:D!

I see nothing! Nothing!

Seen them all, and I like Tarantino generally... I actually used to like him more when I was still in my 20's...

One or two - Thankfully enough to convince me how bad a rip-of hack Tarantino really is.

:)

I've seen em all and enjoyed every one of them.
The all time favourite is still Pulp Fiction.
The least favourite would be Jackie Brown. On its own it is still a good movie but I think he was suffering from the pressure of the next movie syndrome on that one.
Kill Bill 1 & 2 was a brilliant return to form for both Tarantino and Uma

Amazing what hype can do - Turn lame plagiarism into what people think is directional skill.

And people wonder why I scoff at society?

:D

Yeah, I agree. It was very slow and wasn't that great 'till the end (though I thought the music was pretty good). However, when the guy who drove the van and who robbed the bank shot the 19 year old chick (I kind of forgot the names of the people:P) twice for not shutting up about him forgetting where he had parked was pretty awesome:lol:!

I saw them all.
I'm awaiting delivery of a copy of City in Flames, the "template" for 'Dogs, looking forward to that in the next couple of days.
