I'm setting myself up with a "CD Image Server" that'll host images of all my owned CD's. This will allow for much faster load times, etc., and will also allow me to keep the originals intact and unused, so they won't get damaged.
The current problem I'm having is that I can't seem to figure out what security the Civ 3 (vanilla) CD uses. I'm using Alcohol 120% to do the imaging, but this one didn't work.
Does anyone know? Or perhaps someone knows the name of a utility that'll analyze a CD and report the security method?
I realize that such information could be used to make illegal copies of the disk...all I can say to that is that the vanilla game has been out since October of 2001...I'm sure if I were pirating, I'd be doing it for more current software. Hell, I could probably just download a RIP somewhere, and avoid this whole problem, but that won't help me get my image server up and running with all my owned disks.
Thanks.
