In the world of tomorrow!!
I am going for Utopia Planitia. (You geeks understand...)

Or Grover's Mill (for Irony)

Depends on where it is built on Mars.
If it is built on land owned by Greece (eg Hellas Planitia), then some ancient Greek city name :p

Since it is a colony you might as well go for Syracuse.

Well the most famous area on the moon is called the sea of tranquility, why not something on those lines?

Sea of Opportunity? Or just Opportunity for short?

Barsoom.

Which nation established it? It'll probably be the US, so expect something like "Freedom" or "Unity".

Spirit. All I can say.

Predictable :mischief:

Btw, since you mentioned you would be seeing the sea for the first time, know that it is very dangerous to drink alcohol and try to swim.

As much as I love Babylon 5, "Mars Dome One" would be an awful name for it.

Opportunity sure would be good for a few laughs among Borderlands fans. "Bring your shotgun, everyone!"

Utopia Planitia was a shipyard, technically. Also, I'm pretty sure it was a space station.

How about Bradbury Point? He did write the Martian Chronicles, perhaps the best known fiction about Mars.

Pshah.

How about Burroughs's Borough?

Mars is the God of War, so why not we name the city after something related?

Ares?
New Washington?
Red City?
Bloody Hell Ville?

Or we name it after an existing landmark on Mars, wherever the colony is going to end up.

Or after the way the city looks? Dome City?

Amsterdam. End of thread.

Gavin.

I've always thought Gavin might be a nice name for a city on Mars.
