What the heck is wrong with you people?

Yeesh, just take a look at console games. A lot of them get delayed for months and months (I'm looking at you Nintendo!) to make sure everything's perfect, and they only have one platform to make sure it works on! With PC games, developers have to try to make sure it runs on a much wider variety of setups. There's much much more to a computer than just CPU, RAM, GPU, etc.

I guess you have to have some programming experience to fully appreciate how painstakingly laborious debugging software can be at times (read: always). You can't just simply wave your mouse over the code and clean out all the bugs.

Blizzard is the company that makes Warcraft and the Diablo 1 & 2... they may have a couple more games but I cant think of anymore atm. They ensure a game is practically 99% bug free before releasing it. If Blizzard made the game you can bet you'll be playing the game when you get home and the reqs are 100% correct.

HEY genius. How come my low population server crashed and was constantly reset for 4 straight months? It spent more time being down than up for almost 2 weeks at one point. ALL with a super low population. Don't make crap up when you don't have a clue.

Bugs are for the tech forum. Complaing and wining can be done there aswell
Then go there.

Okay, boys and girls. A few "Ground Rules":

1. Stop comparing those upset with the game and its launch with those who started (and supported) the "class action lawsuit" bit.
That's the same kind of bogus parallel people were making to those who wanted less-intensive graphical options ("What? Do you want it to run on your COMMODORE 64?"). They're ridiculous comparisons and are unnecessarily attacking legitimate grievances.

2. Not everyone with complaints supported that "class action lawsuit" thread.
I voted no, even though I think the Civ4 launch -- and marketing for the game and system specs, no less -- was deplorable. Many of you are using faulty warrants in your arguments which debase them completely.

Simply put, debate the debator. You don't "win" by constantly referencing class-action lawsuit posters.

I'm not only having trouble running the game, I'm having trouble trying to learn what is needed to run the game. People have gone out and bought new cards in the hopes that it would run. They've bought duplicate copies of the game in the event that they had a bad disk. They've bought new CD-ROM drives to read the disks. They've bought whole new systems. They've toiled for days fiddling with registry settings, ini files, pak and unpak rituals, deletions, removal of programs, reinstallations, downloading drivers, and updating specs. They've even, for God's sake, turned off their virus protection and disabled firewalls — all in an attempt to get a stupid game to run on computers that should have run it straight out of the box. People are doing workarounds and jerry rigged "fixes". They're playing the game with jerkiness, stuttering, crashes, and memory leaks. If the people responsible for releasing this do not end up facing a class action law suit for the unnecessary time, expense, and anguish they've caused people, it will be more than they deserve.

Get all those people who are having issues on 'stock' PC's and see if they have problems installing the game. If so then your 'lawsuit' might have a leg to stand on, but since the vast najority are -not- having issues then I think your claims are a bit over blown. People screw up their PC's, I know because it's my job to fix them. Surprisingly, the game worked perfectly on my PC, but that's since I don't install crap and know what's going on with my PC, hardware and software, to begin with.

Are you going to go sue Hollywood for that crappy movie you watched last weekend? lol!

OEM operating systems and hardware components are -not- standard, they are third party and should be labelled as such.
