You asked her for a date and her phone number. I believe that does constitute sexual harassment. Just looking a woman can be SH.

One should always be sure to follow These guidelines. Its sad, but the truth nonetheless.

Dude, that sucks. I don't know what else to say.

You didn't take any of the advice in the Flirting thread did you? Especially the parts about sexual innuendo? Please tell me you didn't!

I didnt look at that thread. I guess i better not even talk to girls at my next job.

This is just crazy...

Did you have a friendly relationship with her in the first place? Did you chat friendly with her during your shifts? Or did the question just came out of th blue.

If it came out of the blue, and then asking for a phonenumber again later it might come off as a little agressive.

Its still BS that they fired your for it though.

Ya, as VRWCAgent said, while it is weak grounds for sexual harrassment, they probably figured it would get "worse" and didn't like the thought of having to deal with future consequences.

No employer wants the words "chronic sexual harrassment" within a 100 feet of them, so they probably overreacted.

I worked with her a couple times and she seemed very friendly.

When i asked her out she gave a friendly response so i dont see how this happened.

I only asked once for her phone number.

And she didnt give it but suggested i give her mine.

I did and asked her ONCE before she left if she got it.

And she said she would look me up if she needed too.

It's a weak argument, but this is why I think you got fired. Once she said no, you suggested yours, which sort of counts as asking again. Plus, if the woman didn't like you, she could say it was sexual harrasment. Tough cookies dude, this is why you should usually not ask a woman you're working with out.

Did you follow her around the store every chance you got?

No. I only confronted her once to ask her. Thats the only time.

She probably wanted to avoid confrontation with you, so she pretended she was okay with it, then told the manager. It is a BS way to behave on their part, because how is a guy supposed to know how they feel if they deceive you? It sucks my friend.

Am I really the only one who thinks there is more to this story? Think about who we're talking about.

I don't just mean to ask her on this particular date. I mean on a day to day basis were you following her around as much as possible? Think about it, and be honest.

No i really wasnt following her around. In fact most of my jobs in the store were away from her.

I just tried to join in on conversations with her when i could. Is that sexual harrasment also?

The only other thing is i got upset about the rejection after she left. But i didnt make a fuss or anything i was quiet and kept to myself.

So that wouldnt have any impact on sexual harrasment.
