In the world of tomorrow!!
Been out of sorts lately. Started off being light headed and dizzy. Slowly and surely it got worse. Then the headaches started. Now I feel like if you stand up really quick and you are dizzy... well I feel like that all the time. I constantly feel drunk along with the headaches of being hung over at the same time. NOT FUN.

Anyway, I had an EEG 2 weeks ago and an MRI last Thursday. I just got the results of the MRI and here is the results:

1. A cerebellopontine angle mass on the right side

2. A CSF signal lesion on the cranial Fossa.

Waiting to hear form Swedish Neurology in Seattle for a surgical consultation.

Sounds serious. What is it? Is it more dangerous than giving the symptoms you've experienced?

That cerebellar mass would have caused some light coordination and balance issues, but it's not significantly compressing your brainstem or your fourth ventricle, so it cannot really explain the ...

OH MY GOD look at that hole on your left side!!! (For our audience, brain MRIs are often reversed from our intuitive understanding, we're looking from the top down). Jesus, is that an arachnoid cyst? It's mostly CSF, I'm thinking. The GOOD news should be that you can just open it up to drain it and have a godawful headache for the 3 days or so it takes to rebalance your CSF. And CSF compression like that would cause some serious headaches and cognitive changes already ...

Are they thinking the cerebellopontine mass is an acoustic schwannoma? Those are inevitably benign, though they are still unpleasant to deal with.

I always wanted a hole in my head... but not like this!

I already have constant headaches now. From what I can tell one is a lesion and one is a cyst. Still don't help!

I can always try and fix it myself... :hammer2:

:(

I wish you the best of luck. Not really knowing anything about that, it seems bad/serious.

I don't really know myself. Thanks everyone for the support. o7

Ouch. Hope it goes well, and good that yuo're taking care of it now - better sooner than later.

What sort of procedure will you be likely having?

No idea yet. Waiting to hear from the surgical hospital. Who knows when that will be. Step by step...

Ah, okay, I see, hope it goes well either way. Do you have any idea whether it would be a big honking surgery or a smaller procedure?

I offered to use a power drill and relieve the pressure; but no-one thought that was a good idea.... :dunno:

Sweden .... first thing that came to my mind .... too much vodka ?

EDIT: Fixed the OP pics to protect the "innocent"... Dang moderators! ;)

That's really scary.

Best of luck, and I hope you get better soon!

I could reference your avatar for a joke, but I'm not sure its appropriate.

Go ahead Joecoolyo... I hold no punches and don't expect anyone else to. I'm too old to take things personally and I cannot be insulted.

Not meaning to insult, of course, and again wish you the best of luck and recovering, but:

"What they found in my head" is a great title for a band, no? :D

(also even a short story).
